Gosh you forgot Robert Byrd...from 70 years ago...Isn't that the go to guy you GOP types babble about?

Yeah, its the predictable trope from the ultra right...

And he renounced his former viewpoints and spent his career fighting against racism.

But don't let facts spoil your fantasy.

The best part of it all is that Republicans need not renounce our former viewpoints, since it was the democrats who were responsible for all of that racism.

When we try unsuccessfully to prevent your democrat statues from being torn down, we do so with an intelligent eye to history. We do not want your history to be erased.

Your "kind" are the ones defending those Confederate Statues...Soon every one will be torn down...Will you cry?

Only if they let you off the hook for your misdeeds

LOL! There is no shortage of racist filth infesting the republican party, your fantasy life not withstanding.

This made me think... Trump has no clue how any of his base live. I mean he has literally never in his life been in their areas.

He never did a family road trip like most Americans or had any dealings in rural areas.

He has no clue what a truck stop is or a red neck bar or a Walmart in....
You need ID to purchase groceries. That's all you need to know. I see he is charging $15,000 for a picture with the asshole in El Paso. Idiots!

Name one part of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crowe that Republicans were responsible for?

Yes, you got blacks to join your party in the 20th century, with promises of whatever. What did you offer them?

Irrelevant to what I stated.

Why do you celebrate racist filth like Steve King?

Quite the strawman there. I barely know of Steve King, and I am quite sure he has an explanation for his "errant" remark. I don't really care about him

But he knows how to dupe the rubes. It is so easy to just go in and reinforce their hate and insecurity, then you get their votes.

Not having to deal with racists that hate them?

Yes, we can't forget Donnie Moscow.

Yet you cannot decide to end the racist history of the democrat party by tearing down all of its statues, all of its history, which is entirely racist.

Oh and when he died a while back, Hillary hailed KKK Byrd as her mentor.
He made amends unlike KKK Duke. Ignorance must be bliss.

Actually you offered to stop treating them so horribly, true fact

I changed my post, keep it up to date.

Not trying to make it personal.

But, the republican party has a long history of treating black Americans poorly, why would a black person join the republican party?

Trump is a racist. Reagan is a racist. Bush is a racist. Is there a pattern here in arguments from the left? From the Demokrats? The party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow, etc?

Don't forget Barry Goldwater. He was against the Civil Rights Amendment because of states rights. Oh wait....he was a Republican. And "states rights" as a way of avoiding dealing with racism in the South became part of Republican ideology.

Black people don't vote Republican because the Republican party welcomed the racist southern Democrats that the Democratic Party cut loose when they embraced Civil Rights.

I don't remember a President Goldwater.
