The Republican tax cut is the gift that keeps on giving ... to Democrats. I've seen multiple examples of some MAGA cult members getting their tax returns and wondering WTF????

The 2017 law was supposed to boost workers' wages, create jobs, and drive more investment — and as we've known for awhile, it's done none of that. But now we can add two more failures to the creatively-named Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA): It hasn't encouraged corporations to return their profits from overseas, and it's probably hiding a nasty surprise for many Americans come tax season.

I've heard that this was going to happen, especially in high tax states where the state taxes can't be completely written off. I also wonder if there might be a problem of not enough being with held from paychecks. However you look at it, it's not good news for middle class families.

Its hard to break a habit as strong as using the IRS as a piggy bank, regardless of the facts in this case:
- you get no interest on your money
- you have ceded your money to the federal gov for the year (some of us would string a whole bunch of ugliness off of just this bullet item)

Try to convince Americans that an extra $40 a month is better than $1,000 or so in a lump sum in February and you are just barking up the wrong tree. Americans have grown used to getting a nice fat check in the first quarter of the year and any tax policy that tried to bend that even for a limited period of time was going to have a nasty sting. I suspect the GOP knew it all along and just didn't care. What else is new!

But how bout' them corporate tax breaks huh!! Just completely transformed the Economy didn't they!

Ah-huh

More input from the LOW-INFO LEFT.

Tax returns are what you OVERPAY in taxes, not how much you paid, and are determined by the info YOU PUT on YOUR W2.

People are paying and average of 8% less federal incomes taxes since the tax cut.

Sorry the Left Doofi aren't smart enough to understand/do their own taxes.

Needs to be pointed out again ... and again ... and again.

"... You can expect to see a change in your paychecks after Jan. 1, as employers will modify their withholdings to adapt to the newly passed 2018 tax brackets. ..."

Which brought us the whining left with comments like these at the beginning of last year: "I save a whopping (sarcasm) $8.00 on each paycheck." - "Mine is enough for a couple of Starbucks visits." - blah, blah, blah.

So, now that they've drunk their extra lattes on a regular basis throughout the year, they can't understand why their refund is not enough for a double grande grande latte.

I don't think any of them have EVER DONE THEIR OWN TAXES, or even FILLED OUT THEIR OWN W2....
