A Deputy City Attorney says she got typhus at the Los Angeles City Hall.

Officials there admit that the building is infested with vermin. Several employees there report being bitten by fleas.

Typhus is a bacterial infection that people get from fleas from infected rats and other vermin. Typhus infections have cropped up in San Francisco, also.

I suspect that environmentalist advocates there have objected to fumigation and spraying insecticides.

they need to take care of this problem in that building. it may prevent California from supporting red states and that will cause heads to explode.

The OP article reads like something from the Onion.

Regardless, we are scraping the bottom of the barrel coming up with **** to be upset about. LA has an issue, it is documented, and they are doing something about it.

... onto the weather.

According to a medical doctor radio talk show host named Dr. Drew here in Los Angeles, the problem is due to the large number of homeless people.

I have not been in downtown L.A. for a long time (and have no desire to do so), but it is reported that the many homeless people encamped around or near City Hall live in very unsanitary conditions. Liberal laws prevent the authorities from forcing the homeless to move to shelters.

Third World? FYI, California has the US's largest state economy and would be fifth in the entire world overall if it split from the US...

News from the "Third World" of California, Texas, Florida, pretty much most of the Southern United States.

Texas had 519 cases last year, said spokeswoman Lara Anton of the Texas Department of State Health Services. That’s more than three times the number in 2010, with clusters in Houston and Galveston. No figures for this year have been released.

Murine typhus is one of several diseases on the rise in the southern United States, Hotez said.

“Others include dengue, now emerging in southern Texas and Florida, the Zika virus infection, Chikungunya. We have a huge problem with West Nile virus,” he added, and Chagas disease, a condition usually seen in Latin America.

Hotez says they are on the rise in many industrial nations with crowded cities and pockets of poverty.

Hey!

California is filthy Liberal third world country, especially Los Angeles.

Unlike Conservative, clean, and pristine Texas, especially Houston!

Typhus, once thought eradicated, continues to spike in Texas

Todd Ackerman July 24, 2018 Updated: July 25, 2018 5:41 p.m.

Led by Houston and Galveston, Texas continues to see a rise in typhus cases, a troubling trend for the flea-borne, occasionally fatal disease once thought to have been wiped out in most of the United States.

The Texas health department reports there were 519 cases of typhus in 2017, more than three times the number in 2010. The uptick represents the fourth consecutive year that the number has increased. Harris County recorded 71 of the cases last year, up from 32 cases in 2016. Galveston County has already reported more cases in 2018, 18, than in all of last year.

Never fail to fully optimize a "crisis" (big or small) for partisan purposes!

LOL

Except they denied it for some time and suggested the employee was lying until she sent blood test results...

I listened to a radio interview with the infected employee.

And the typhus was probably brought in by criminal invaders.

Hmm. I'd equate it more to Saudi Arabia, where there is the very, very rich, and then, well, everyone else. Almost no middle class to speak of.

You see disgusting homes in CA that would sell for $450,000 but in any other state wouldn't even get you near $35k. Ever watch Flip or Flop? That's all you need to know about the price of tea in China.

Oh come on, LD, you guys aren't a third world country - ya, you might have the occasional breakout, but at least you have universal health care, like every other 1st world country, to look after it......oh...wait...nevermind. Yup, gotta agree...

I really would not mind the illegal border hoppers entering this country if they had a passport stating they
could only be residents of California. They've practically taking over California already they can fill the place up with
illegals for all I care as long as they don't hop over the California state line and invade the USA!
