The Young Black Conservatives of Trump’s America

People like to point out that there aren't that many black people voted into office on the Republican side but I find such statements to be dishonest in that they're not looking at obvious things. Like the fact that 90%+ of blacks always vote Democrat. That doesn't leave a lot of black people on the Republican side, much less qualified enough to hold office. Though I am seeing some political conservative black activists that, if they put their energy into it the right way, would get voted in.

Here's the thing in my opinion. The blacks that leave mostly leave because they feel the party has left them not because the GOP is offering them more hope which is why most folks of color still vote democratic. It is also why I would love the GOP to change enough to attract more of a diversity of voters. I just don't see the GOP changing enough for that to ever happen.

I think what is surprising to a lot of people, blacks, Dems and Trump haters, is that Trump had more support from blacks than, say, Romney in the 2016 election and that he has ANY support from blacks at all right now.

Me? I don't find it surprising. I find it heartening that there are people who won't be swayed by the media's onslaught against Trump...whether they are black, white or other.

There are a slew of young black businesses owners here in the Tidewater area and I should have mentioned this earlier.

Part of Trump's tax package, helps start up businesses for at least 5 years which helps a lot.

Minority small business start up's are up 400%

It really goes to show how the MSM will continue to downplay or completely ignore black success stories. Their job is to carry the Dems message of the 2438 ways we are victimized.

are a novelty, they do not represent 1% of the country.

They get far more attention than they deserve because the are so rare, so unique.

Most of them are capitalizing on their novelty.

If you are a black conservative your phone is blowing up from the propagandists to use you to disguise truth.

But that just it, the Republican party is already changing. And yes, those blacks that were once DNC probably leave the DNC because they are disillusioned with the DNC. I mean, who wouldn't? 40 years of voting Democrat and in many respects (not all) blacks are actually worse off today than they were 40 years ago. In any case, by switching to the GOP more blacks are going to see more blacks on the GOP bandwagon. The more blacks on the GOP bandwagon the more will "convert" (for lack of a better term atm). The more blacks "convert", the more the GOP will change. Now, the reasons why those that "convert" will convert will no doubt vary widely, but seeing more blacks enter the GOP will make other blacks pause and reconsider things. The only way that the DNC will stop hemorrhaging black people is if they stop treating black people as nothing more than votes that need to be gotten during an election year and then forgotten until the next election year. Something that many black conservatives resent and despise.

Know what's ironic here noonereal? You said exactly the same things that was discussed, and debunked, in the video.

And by the by....8% of black people voted for Trump in 2016. Polls show that approval of Trump among blacks is between 15% and 25% depending on which poll you look at. The only one spouting propaganda here is you.

Like I said, she was just a small part of the video. Her interview was less than 5 minutes. About another 5 minutes showing her speaking. Much of the rest of the video had nothing to do with Ms. Owens.

I'm following your thinking but disagree in the order of change. It's going to take the GOP changing before the numbers will begin to make a difference to make the dems worry. Let's see how 2020 breaks down after all the voting is anal ized to death. My guess is you are not going to see numbers that will encourage your thinking. If I'm wrong and don't get booted before then, I will post I was wrong.

Yes, it's now the Party of Trump. He owns it. It only took Trump 2 years. The GOP is wrapped in Trumpism. That means a lot of things, most of which I don't like. If you think those things are positive, go with it.

Are there other changes the GOP made that I'm missing?

The dems are changing as well. Sanders had an effect on them.

Don't get me wrong, the change is not going to be immediate. I don't expect the numbers to reflect that big of a change in 2020. But over time, in the long run, there IS going to be change. Unless something drastic happens social change is always slow.

Sorry, but anything that includes Ms. Candace "Lying shill for fracking industry" Owens as a legitimate voice for young black conservatives is not worth my time.
