Democrats, you have one real job...and you are screwing it up

Actually all anyone needs to do to beat Trump is support America and its values more than him. Democrats should ponder why they have such a void of candidates in that area but that smug nature of theirs will prevent it every time. I advise they continue with the open borders mantra right up until 2020.

This thread is about candidates who are supporting loony leftist ideas...this is not a leftist idea that is supported by hardly anyone that I am aware of.

At least stick to a valid topic.

I am on your topic perfectly. That's your issue. If you want to beat Trump I suggest running and finding normal candidates that reflect American values. And please spare us the dems arent for open borders crap. They are fighting for sanctuary cities on every channel.

I'm not making the connection.

That doesn't seem like it should be my issue. You cited me for being off a valid topic when I clearly was not. Are we seeing a pattern yet? I am.

OK.

Tell me which Democrats want open borders.

Go!

(I'll need quotes from them)

Kamala has said she signs on with the New Green Deal. I will not vote for her because of it.

Cory Booker has said he signs on with the New Green Deal. I will not vote for him because of it.

The New Green Deal isn't settle or set in stone yet. You're worried about vapor.

The OP cited specific candidates who seem eager to support far left concepts. It is, of course, far too early to say whether such a far left candidate will become the DNC POTUS option on the 2020 ballot but the point made by the OP was valid.

And? At this point it's all vapor, floating around with no real substance or agreement. And 'far left'? LOL! Pretty much shows how disinterested you are in honest discussion of this. Booker is hardly 'far left'.

Seriously... I think Trump is a very bad President. I think he is targeted and everyone is really out to get him, but I think he gives way more ammunition with his crazy than he should. Sometimes he is doing his job, often he is just batcrap crazy.

Any person that supports the GND as presented by AOC is crazier. Like off the reservation insane. If they even try to defend the idea of it, I lose much hope for them. I read it. I'm sorry I wasted that portion of my life, but I won't get it back. It's truly stupid on a level no one elected to dog catcher should be capable of supporting, much less a congress member.

I need a real alternative or Trump has a real chancing of winning the election when all of us sane people sit out.

The most important job Democrats have -- in the view of this ex-Republican -- is to offer up someone who independents and NeverTrumpers can vote for instead of Trump.

Thus far, you are ****ing this up.

Example: the latest cluster **** is the "New Green Deal". Some of the early D contenders have "signed on". Kamala. Cory.

So they are out for this NeverTrumper. Kamala took herself out for me when she said she would eliminate all private health insurance, including that provided by employers.

As much as I've hated Nancy P. in the past, she gained some respect for saying the "New Green Deal" was a "dream deal". IOW, not realistic. She is at least pragmatic.

I will never vote for Trump. I would never normally vote for a Democrat either. But I considered it it as opposition to Trump.

Be careful of letting this pendulum swing too far. You are dangerously close to snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.

70 of the house Democrats have signed on to this GND madness. That's 25%. That alone is a good reason to never vote for a Democrat.

The New Green Deal isn't settle or set in stone yet. You're worried about vapor.

I'm not worried about the plan. I'm worried about people who support the plan. Well, not even worried. But it puts them on my immediate list of people to not even begin to consider.

Our reality tells us that per usual, the presidency will come down to 2 people. This time, unless Trump resigns or is impeached it's Trump and a Democrat. Trump needs to go, but not to someone who is so willing to jump on board with fantasy.

And? At this point it's all vapor, floating around with no real substance or agreement. And 'far left'? LOL! Pretty much shows how disinterested you are in honest discussion of this. Booker is hardly 'far left'.

Booker is hardly a leading candidate. Time will tell which POTUS candidate the DNC picks, but I doubt that it will be Booker.

I think what the Democrats are having is a relatively healthy discussion in the public view that will only amplify during the debates. Pelosi and AOC don't actually hate each other. Its similar to what the GOP went through in 2016 but not quite as bad.

It will be worse.

To Airyaman and everyone else freaking the **** out over the Green New Deal, which I guarantee you Airyaman HAS NOT READ, only heard about:

Howzabout you inform yourselves by actually reading it.
Then, after you have, ask yourself what you think the odds are that 100% of it will ever pass.
Then, after you've done that, ask yourself if there is ANYTHING in there (again, predicated on the notion that you actually do READ IT) that makes sense to you.
Then finally, ask yourself if THOSE items have a chance at passage, and if so, would you be okay with any of them.

If the answer to the final question is NO, then you clearly were never going to vote for a Democrat anyway.
So why should Democrats come up with someone who is just "a better Trump" anyway?

No thanks.

That's the problem you socialists have: you don't have a "Better Trump" to come up with. Not better, just different.

"right is going to do EVERYTHING it can to get the Democrats to commit early", JUST like the libs did in 2015.

Who cares when they commit? I just want some reason to hope... any hope.

Booker is hardly a leading candidate. Time will tell which POTUS candidate the DNC picks, but I doubt that it will be Booker.

Based on the DNC's track record, I can hardly wait for their announcement.

You should at least wait for some DNC primary results but the MSM will likely call it before that.

Then hope for a Republican to beat Trump out. I think anyone rational would have a chance at ousting him. There is no hope when the likes of AOC, Booker, and Harris vie to carry the banner for the left.
