yep but it doesn't give them a right to release them to the public in any way shape or form.
only trump can release them to the public.

if they are leaked i expect a full FBI and DOJ investigation as to the people that leaked them and they
    be arrested and prosecuted.

Federal law makes it a crime for an IRS agent (or any other federal employee) willfully to disclose unauthorized tax returns. If an agent did indeed willfully release President Trump’s unauthorized tax return, he or she could be subject to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. Upon conviction, federal law provides that he or she would also lose his or her job.

Well, we do have something along those lines, which is typical of the con trolls, demanding Pelosi release her taxes. These people are truly deplorable

Thank God we have oversight built into our government. Otherwise a crook like Trump could run our government like Saddam Hussein.

I don't think ANYBODY should have their tax return released to the public unless they choose to have it done.

Trump and the GOP would vastly prefer a permanent deep burial as distant as possible from any sunlight.
As soon as you quote me the law saying someone MUST release their taxes in order to run for President, then I am okay with this

If not, stick it where the sun doesnít shine

If we want that law on the books, letís put it on the books....the right way

He has expelled over 60 Russian diplomats and ordered the Russian embassy in Seattle closed.

Shifty Schiff today proved he wasn't interested in having evidence of reasonable cause to justify his "expanded" investigation. To sum up what Shifty said is he in on a fishing investigation for a crime to take down Trump. Or at least information they can glean from his tax records that they could use to spin in the public eye to continue the attacks up to 2020 because they all know Mueller's report isn't the smoking gun they were hoping for. Well it isn't going to happen. They will never see Trump's tax returns. Only the tax information he has already released. This is just another wet dream on the left.

Mueller's investigation will not reveal any smoking gun that will show any criminal activity of Trump that the Democrats have laid claim to in their many conspiracy theories over the last two years with Shifty Schiff leading the charge. And ask yourself out of all the crap Schiff has been spewing for the last two years ever been proved? The answer is no. And every Democrat on those committees knows there is no there there.

The left also knows Horowitz's investigation in to the Obama administration's FBI, DOJ and their handling of the investigation of Trump and his campaign is going to produce people he has recommended for prosecution. Then there is Huber according to reports is pursuing indictments. At one point Trump was ready to release all documentation in regard to FISA abuse and beyond but backed off. A thinking person would ask why? Could it be he knows persons involved are in deep doo doo and by revealing such now could hinder the governments case against them?

Then we know Horowitz was also going to pursue the major problem he uncovered of leaking to the press within the DOJ and FBI under the Obama administration. We know of two active investigation ongoing involve Baker and McCabe. Who else? Stay tuned.

Then there is Huber's involvement. We know he has gotten some of these players indicted but they are all sealed. Horowitz is limited to the DOJ/FBI but Huber has the power to go wherever his investigation leads.

For cripe sake The Clinton Foundation and Uranium One cases are still active. And we learned from Ben Sasse this week that the DOJ has an investigation into how Epstein got such a sweet deal on his involvement in sex trafficking of minors.

But anything the Democrats can do to keep the focus on Trump it takes away from the scrutiny by the press of every criminal investigation that is associated with the Democratic party.
I watched a few minutes of Maddow last night and it seems that Schiff has decided that it's perfectly fine to open up investigations into anything and everything Trump has ever done, might do or could do if he thought of it THEN he has expanded that scope to Trump's family and associates. Basically, from what Maddow said of the scope of these investigations, if anyone ever stayed in a Trump hotel or played a Trump golf course their records could be hauled in for investigation.

There's something about that, Vesper, that feels a little unamerican.

They can not release them to the full house, they will only be released to the House Ways and Means committee... From reports, the administration will try to use the very same argument you are using to try to defy the request. Good luck in court... We typically don't violate the law on the notion that someone might commit a crime by complying with a law.

it's perfectly fine to open up investigations into anything and everything Trump has ever done...……..that appears to be corrupt. You know, its kind of what the republicans did with Hillary. Heck they even investigated things that didn't even appear to be corrupt from the start. They showed us(the progressives) that its the right thing to do...…….and we should even spend millions and millions on those investigations.

But its funny to see conservatives so against investigations today! Pure entertainment! LMAO!

The ways and means committee can vote to release them to the full house.
but it can go no further than that, but we know how these criminals are.

Washington criminals violate the law every day. yet they get away with crap that they would lock you up for in a heart beat.

Irrelevant... Until a crime has been committed there is NOTHING the Secretary of the Treasury can do to stop the House Ways and Means committee from getting access to the tax returns..
