White House chief economic adviser Kevin Hassett said furloughed workers are “better off” because they didn’t have to use vacation days over the holidays due to the government shutdown.

Hassett told PBS during an appearance on “NewsHour” that the timing of the shutdown coming during the holidays allowed furloughed workers to avoid having to use vacation days.

A comment like that indicates to the shutdown will end next week.

The Cruelty Is the Point

President Trump and his supporters find community by rejoicing in the suffering of those they hate and fear.

Obama was cruel as well? Clinton?

You do realize that regardless of what the idiot Trump said about him owning this shut down, that both parties are to blame? It's their job to govern, not to act like little kids that throw their toys at each other when they don't get their way.

That said, this all started when Trump went back on the DACA promise he made in the Cabinet Room on live TV to the Democrats, when he was pressured by the "Freedom" Caucus to screw the Democrats. So, he was the catalyst that got us on this path, but it isn't COMPLETELY and SOLELY his fault.

You lose.

If that's all you read, then it isn't me that lost, which is funny since I'm not even playing win-lose.

This is supposed to be a sharing of ideas and positions, with the ability of each of us to question each other's ideas and positions in a effort to convince the other that your ideas and positions make sense, not right versus wrong, because in many ways both can be right and wrong at the same time.

But if you need to win to be happy, then have at it... I'm not that insecure.
