Absolutely. And I respect your honesty and setting aside any political disagreement here, to make this point.

But I do feel strongly, that to allow the Executive branch to hold the government hostage in this manner over funding, is a precedent that should never be allowed. The framers designated the House to set the budget for the executive branch, and short of a Constitutional convention changing this, I'm not sure what else there is to say about it.

That’s because he needs to be there to sign a bill. Tell mcconnell to put the bill the house passed to a vote. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. You blame the Dems when it is mcconnelll who won’t put the bill to a vote. Tell mccconnell to do his job instead of being a hypocrite.

Killing two birds with one stone.

Keeping trying to spin it as a bad thing to visit a neglected part of the country.

Trump is calling it Plan B to take recovery funds needed in Puerto Rico to use for his wall.

It's funny, these guys scream bloody murder over charitable events, but have no problem with paying Trump's golf courses to allow him to not work and play golf (at a profit) on the taxpayer dime, at rates, literally no other presidents have done, and yet, not a problem for these hypocrites.:roll: Then he talks about National security isses over dinner, where he can be overheard (while he's raking in a profit doing nothing) and yeah, not a peep out of these folks.

What are they supposed to do? Put a gun to McConnell's head and tell him to put the bill to a vote? They can't vote on a bill without the GOP allowing it to be voted on. I don't think you people really understand how the Senate works. The Democrats literally cannot vote until Mitch lets them.

They already did all they can. It's up to Senate Republicans now. Trump has no desire to get his wall money or he would not be leaving the govt. shutdown. There will be no negotiations for wall money with it shut and he knows this.

You and Trump are treating Puerto Rico like they aren't part of this country. Democrats are doing something constructive and very much needed while Trump is holding the country hostage and holding out the possibility of cutting recovery funds to Puerto Rico if Democrats don't give him money that he promised he would never ask for.

No wonder Breitbart is trying to turn something very good into something very bad. The only question was whether today was one of your Trump water carrier days or one of your more candid days. Clearly this is a Trump water carrier day.

The fact that Trump has yet to blow-up the entire Republic, is a testament to our Framer's brilliance and the strength of our democratic institutions.

After this mess is over, like with Nixon, we will abhor & detest that it occurred. But, we will celebrate the system working & holding. It will be a bittersweet rejoice, but a rejoice none-the-less. Democracy is a messy thing! And it is a good thing from time-to-time to be forced to remember and examine the fragility of the nature of freedom & democracy, so we can be re-invigorated in protecting and ensuring it.

What part are you having trouble understanding? McConnell is not going to waste time with votes on things Trump has no intention of signing into law. In the meantime the Senate needs to use its time on the backlog of confirmations the Democrats have been slow walking for months. Their resistance bull **** is getting old. It's time they do their damn jobs.

The bolded is exactly what Breitbart (and Trump/Fox) do. They take a good thing, and portray it badly, and take bad things and portray them as good.

They recently spun the NYT revelation of Trump himself being under investigation during his campaign by the FBI, by tying it into Comie and a "deep state" that Trump is cleaning-out.

Can't make this stuff up! :doh
