Mueller investigating Ukrainian presence at Trump inaugural: report

Read it again. Mueller is probing foreign contributions to the inaugural campaign fund. Millions of $$$. most still unaccounted for, for rich Ukranians to buy access to Trump & his cronies. That's against Federal law.

You should probably read BOTH of your links again.

Your Hill article talks about Ukraines at the inauguration, but doesn't say anything about contributions from them. Your NYT article talks about contributions, but doesn't say Mueller is looking at contributions from Ukraine.

Dude...you can't connect one with the other just because you feel like it. Go by the facts, eh?

Special counsel Robert Mueller has looked into the presence of several Ukrainian officials at President Trump's inauguration, The New York Times reported Thursday.

The news outlet reported that federal prosecutors have interviewed witnesses about how the Ukrainians gained access to inaugural events and what they discussed during meetings while in the U.S.
===============================================
A lot of illegal contributions helped these guys get access to Trump & others during the inauguration - for what purpose? Mueller is doing a thorough job of turning over the rocks that the Trump Crime Family is hiding under.

"Show me the man and I will show you the crime" Said by one of Stalin's henchmen.

Uhhh... They had to pay big $$$ in order to attend. Do you think Trump gives anything away for free?

Prosecutors Examining Ukrainians Who Flocked to Trump Inaugural

WASHINGTON — Hours after he was sworn in as America’s 45th president, Donald J. Trump and his wife, Melania, swayed together to a rendition of the Frank Sinatra classic “My Way,” as hundreds of their wealthiest and most influential supporters held aloft smartphones to capture the Trumps’ first dance following the inauguration.

Serhiy Kivalov, a Ukrainian lawmaker known for pro-Russian initiatives, took photos of the dance, as well as of his coveted tickets and passes to the soiree where it took place, the Liberty Ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, posting them on Facebook and declaring that “it was an honor” to attend.

'They attended meetings and orchestrated encounters at Trump International Hotel with influential Republican members of Congress and close allies of President Trump.' And Trump did not give away this kind of high level access.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign has zeroed in on at least a dozen Ukrainian officials in politics and business who may have used Trump’s 2017 inauguration to advocate for pro-Russia policies and business deals, The New York Times reported Thursday.

According to the report, various officials attended big-ticket events hosted by Trump’s inauguration committee, using the opportunity to meet with Republican lawmakers and Trump allies, including by holding some meetings at Trump’s hotel in Washington. Several of the officials reportedly hoped to gauge how they could become influential in the eyes of the new administration, in order to boost issues favorable to Russia — such as lifting U.S. sanctions imposed after Russia’s seizure of Crimea — or land business deals.

Trump did not hand out freebies to these Ukranians. Emphasis on 'big ticket.'

First of all, I doubt Trump had anything to do with whatever the inaugural committee did. In any case, there is no indication...not from your first article, nor from your second article...that the Ukrainians paid anything in order to attend.

That whole notion appears to be coming only from you.

You're just kidding yourself. Mueller is not wasting his time on nothingburgers. And Trump controlled everything around the inauguration. He is big on control.

Mueller Eyes Ukrainians Who Attended Trump Inauguration

The special counsel is looking at how a number of Ukrainian politicians secured seats at the Trump inauguration, the New York Times reported Thursday.

The report comes amid indications that probes into the Trump inauguration — and what it did with the record $107 million it raised — are heating up. At the same time, peace plans that various Ukrainians were ferrying to Washington have also become a focus of the investigation.
===========================================
People attending the inaugural paid a record $107M. No one got in free. And there is no accounting known for where that money went.

From the very first day of the Trump administration (i.e. inaugurration day 2017) it's been apparent to anyone with the ability to reason objectively that this administration that was rotten to the core. I actually remember news accounts at that time that raised questions about the very issue raised in the OP. So it's no surprise to me to see that the Mueller team is investigating it.

Anyone who remains dismissive of ALL of the Russian/Putin connections to the Trump campaign/administration...after all that has been revealed over the last few years (including the election campaign)...is, honestly, worthy of having his/her patriotism and/or psychological status questioned.

No joke.

But, it's also worth remembering that 80% of all conservatives still supported Nixon (and expressed disbelief about the Watergate scandal), right up until 2 weeks before his resignation. So, this sort of delusionalism is just part of the conservative mentality. It's hardwired in the rightwing brain.

I'm with you!!
