Trump's wall is about giving people an enemy to hate

Because humans are intelligent. They can get around physical barriers. What would deter you more, a house with a wall or a house with a security system? Would you put a wall that can't be scaled around your home? A 100 ft concrete barrier with barbed wire or would you just get a security system? It's just common sense.

And the kind of walls used to stop “invasions” function as military fortifications.

Hadrians wall is a perfect example. In order to protect their holdings in Britain, the Roman Empire built a intricate series of stone fortifications along the border seperating Roman Britain from Scotland, which was home to the Pictic tribes who posed an actual threat to Roman Britain. Hadrian’s Wall was not simply a physical barrier, it served as the base for the Roman garrison in charge of defending the wall from pictic incursion.

Any wall that requires a garrison in order to function is military in function. The u.s Mexico border is not a warzone, and it does not need military fortifications.

1. I live in NY. I remember when I was scared to be on the subway at 2am. Not anymore. I see that crime is down with my own eyes. The statistics only corroborate my experience.

2. Trump's claim is that they're rapists and murderers. Violent crime is at historic lows unless you believe in a vast conspiracy stretching decades to lie about crime statistics.

3. Arrests are an indicator of criminal activity. When crime goes down so do arrests. They're catching fewer people because fewer people are crossing.

Do you deny that Trump is fomenting hate against a minority group of humans by point to the violent crimes of a few of their members? Do you deny that this is how Trump got elected?

You may not want to admit it but you're being manipulated and controlled. There is no crisis or emergency. Violent crime is down and illegal immigration is down. You're being controlled through fear and hate.

Well if the Invaders ramp up efforts to invade than we will place military at the wall. It doesn't have to be a war zone.
