A Shutdown Reveals the Transformation of the GOP

You can't be DONE with something you never started. From day 1, the Democrats have been against this man. And since they think he is Hitler who committed treason, conspiring with Russia to illegitimately win the presidency, why would they work with him at all? If they truly believe all that, it would be morally wrong just to consider working with him, right?

Yeah well okay, that's a lie and has been refuted multiple times on this forum.

The proof is in Trump's own words and actions. Just because you are too blind to see does not mean it is not true. Trump is a Manchurian candidate and will go down in history as such. He was elected at the behest and with the help of a foreign adversary and not a day goes by that we are not reminded of this fact. This goes far beyond party and the Republican Senators will have to choose between Trump or country. I believe they will choose country.

Here friend, read this, from NPR:

"When you actually look at the substance of what this administration has done, not the rhetoric but the substance, this administration has been much tougher on Russia than any in the post-Cold War era," said Daniel Vajdich, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council.

Take military spending: Trump sought to add $1.4 billion for fiscal year 2018 to the European Deterrence Initiative — a military effort to deter Russian aggression that was initially known as the European Reassurance Initiative. That's a 41 percent increase from the last year of the Obama administration. The president also agreed to send lethal weapons to Ukraine — a step that Obama resisted. And Trump gave U.S. forces in Syria more leeway to engage with Russian troops.

These facts are in complete contradiction to your misrepresentation.

Also, Crimea was annexed during the Obama administration. Perhaps your venerable Obama was, in fact, the Manchurian candidate! Gasp!

The Crimean Peninsula was annexed from Ukraine by the Russian Federation in February–March 2014 and since then has been administered as two Russian federal subjects—the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol. Wikipedia

Except in reality he has handed Putin victory after victory, from gutting the State Dept., threatening to leave NATO, siding with Putin over Russia interference in his election at Helsinki, withdrawing from Syrian peace talks and then announcing our withdrawal from Syria, all the way to the latest.....

“Russia used to be the Soviet Union,” he said.

Afghanistan made it Russia, because they went bankrupt fighting in Afghanistan. Russia … the reason Russia was in Afghanistan was because terrorists were going into Russia. They were right to be there. The problem is, it was a tough fight. And literally they went bankrupt; they went into being called Russia again, as opposed to the Soviet Union. You know, a lot of these places you’re reading about now are no longer part of Russia, because of Afghanistan.

Anyone who knows history knows that the USSR invaded Afghanistan to prop up the communist puppet Govt. they installed yet Trump speaks like the words are coming out of Putin's mouth.

A Shutdown Reveals the Transformation of the GOP

The Trump/McConnell government shutdown of 2018/2019.

The supposed party of fiscal conservatism exists no more. From the tax-reform bonanza for the wealthy to billions demanded for Trumps medieval 13th century wall, the GOP is exploding the federal deficit.

The federal budget deficit swelled to $779 billion in fiscal year 2018, driven in large part by a sharp decline in corporate tax revenues after the Trump tax cuts took effect. The deficit rose nearly 17 percent year over year.

The deficit will top $1 Trillion in 2019. And no, I don't want to hear the assured 2019/2020 budget-deficit-crocodile-tear-cries of the GOP that we need SS and Medicare 'reforms'. (a euphemism for a wooden stake).

I really don't give a hoot one way or the other when it comes to the wall. But you're right about the GOP. Fiscal conservatism has come to mean only low taxes. The deficit, the national debt, being fiscal responsible vs. fiscal conservative mean nothing anymore to the Republican Party. Of course we all know being fiscal responsible never meant anything to the Democrats. Now both parties are peas in a pod.

Somewhere between 30 and 36 inches

Nope

A middle school girl could skip over a wall that high

A middle school girl can skip over a wall 6 or 7 feet tall?

The middle school girls in your neighborhood must be some pretty good "skippers".

I notice you have no links provided. Belief without proof is faith. STILL worshipping Obama?

No of course not, they've been there for thirty years, and there are numerous accounts of the pollution problems dating pretty far back.

Why do you ask if they were built after 2016. Is it an attempt to invalidate my points?
Best of luck to you with that. Don't take my word for it, go check into it yourself and see if I am exaggerating.

One part of your post was this:

"The neighboring town of Midlothian is a study in the effects of "cutting regulations willy nilly" the way Trump is doing."

I asked if the cement plants were built AFTER Trump was elected because you used them as an example of the dangers of Trump's policies.

Now you say they have been there for 30 years.

That takes the history back to Reagan and also includes Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, Obama and finally, for a few short months, Trump. Did Trump's policies infect the decisions of all of these presidents before they were implemented?

Can you see that your example is utterly empty?

What else have you got? You know- something from the real world.

Actuarial adjustments to the top income cap on SS would make the program solvent into the next century.
And human beings are not going to wind up with lifespans of 200 years or more, just because life expectancy rose in the last century.
By the way, that life expectancy has actually been GOING DOWN in the United States recently.

You're just putting lipstick on a pig called "Social Security privatization", and by your logic, ALL insurance and pension programs are "ponzi schemes". That's a very impressive sounding "buzz word" but it's only impressive to low information people who always react with their amygdalas first.

Are you in for the entire Fear Based Weapons Grade Historical Revisionism Smorgasbord?**

** Social Security is a ponzi scheme, unfunded liabilities top $1.4 quadrillion worldwide as banks mull global coup d'etat in historic repossession of Planet Earth, vaccinations cause autism, Jade Helm, United States is not a democracy, anything after the Tenth Amendment is invalid, Hitler was a liberal, climate change is a Chinese hoax, the Constitution was written by Christ - secret gun toting Savior, Jews secretly plotting to heist the world's banks, etc.
(Those are the top ten)

You have no clue.

I will be retiring soon and will likely be dead and buried before the US goes bankrupt under the weight of the Social Security program costs.

Using the system I described provides ALL of the same benefits to retirees plus a cash payout to heirs if they die before retirement and does so providing a tax payment to the treasury instead of a debt liability.

It makes sense, would be self supporting and returns control to the individual so no Leftist would like it.

That wall is waist high in most spots

Care to cut and paste the nugget making whatever point it is that you are trying to make that you seem to think is hidden in that link.

care to read the article?

With a ideology saying they want small government and less interactions with a government worker and the common man: your willing to accept a big brother telling you want is common sense and what is a foreign lifestyles.

Excuse me, your wording was vague. I don't know if that's passive aggressive or not, don't care.
Had you asked if they'd ever BEEN better regulated, I would have understood, and the answer to that question is YES.
As far back as even the first Bush administration, the blizzard of lawsuits PLUS EPA actions DID indeed cause more regulation, and the concrete plants began to reluctantly attempt at cleaning up their act.

Here's a helpful hint:

Midlothian concrete plant pollution

You'll find articles and links dating as far back as 1999, or earlier, and as recent as this month.

And my Trump reference still holds no matter what, because I simply said "willy nilly, the way Trump is doing".
I didn't say that the Trump White House sent specific communications to the concrete plant operators in Midlothian with big block letters saying "Let her rip, boys!"...I just said that the town of Midlothian is a study in the effects of "cutting regulations willy nilly".

And it is. It IS a study. The history of concrete plant pollution and sky high birth defects in that town ARE a study in what happens when you cut regulations willy nilly - - THE WAY TRUMP IS DOING.

See if you can possibly understand the ANALOGY. At this point, I think analogies and metaphors might be over your head, but try, won't you?

care to read the article?

Not really. I scanned it and could not find whatever it is that you seem to think is valuable.

IF there is something there that means anything, please cut and paste it to your post.

Yes, the wall is clearly at the workers waist level

What is identified in your image as 10 feet tall is called a collumn

My point is that opponents of Trump continuously lie about his record and what you did is exactly that. Their passion and yours is admirable, but useless.

You said that Trump is deregulating stuff (willy-nilly) and that cutting these regulations will cause harm.

DO YOU HAVE ANY EXAMPLES TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM?

Simply being upset about something and then screaming, "TRUMP DID IT!" seems to be the fashionable thing to do around here.

When you claim to have evidence, it's courteous to present the evidence.

Seems there is none to present and you admit it. I accept your admission.

I said "the WAY Trump does"...

You don't get it, you still don't get it, you'll never get it.
"It's been four HOURS, the COWS could tape something by now."

If you're really so dense that analogies escape you, then your ignorance is hard baked into your DNA.

I do love that clip. I demonstrates the learning disability of many.

Now, with the meaning that clip in mind, can you provide ANY EXAMPLE of the regulations cut by Trump that have had a negative impact on your life?

Providing a negative result unrelated to Trump or anything he ever did or ever contemplated and then screaming "Trump" is what you have done so far.

I'm trying to find out if you hate Trump because it's stylish with all the other kids or because he actually did something that injures your or your interests.
