Warren promoted and benefited from an obvious falsehood. Trump called her on it. That's all he did.
This is very American. We have a saying around here: "Put up or shut up!"
I'm from Northern Minnesota where Native American alcoholism was a very pronounced problem when I was growing up. Was Warren demeaning anyone when she got her a beer? Did Trump make her say this?
This is supremely moving the goalpost, to the point of plain deflection. It is also flat out bullsh*tting: Trump meant it as a racial slur, like he meant all his other racial slurs, and all the major Native American groups called him on it, which means they also found it offensive, irrespective of whatever Warren's claims were or how they felt about hers. The 'why' he did it is no excuse. Whatever you might think of Warren is no excuse, in fact it is a lame attempt at blaming the victim. Whatever censure or rejection she got from the Cherokee Nation is no excuse. The president belittled and demeaned Native Americans in general when he used that slur and that is plain for anyone the first time they heard it.
The only people defending the president are his red hats, who defend all his racist statements, from calling all illegal immigrants (and by extension all Mexicans) 'rapist' to telling African Americans they live in 'hell' to calling developing countries 'sh*th0les'. That is Trump in a nutshell - a deplorable racist - and there is no way to wriggle, writhe and slither away from it.
This is the true TDS - Trump Delusion Syndrome. Believing and accepting anything he says as if he's a demi-god cult leader, then making up pathetic excuses to defend him.
Trump is a racist.
