"He's deeply damaged at his core," the New Jersey-born rocker recently told Esquire magazine. "Anyone in that position who doesn't deeply feel those ties that bind is a dangerous man, and it's very pitiful."

That's no big surprise. Springsteen is an outspoken liberal; he campaigned for John Kerry in 2004 and performed at Barack Obama's second inauguration.

As of now, yes. Senator Sanders is again considering running. And others who support him may consider running themselves.

Why should Bruce stay quiet? Did you know he does charity events for people in Asbury Park? He earned a public voice.

Occasionally I fear he is right. Democrats sure haven't done much obvious work to build up viable candidates.

However, people that we may not know well now will become household names during primary season. If someone gets up on that debate stage three or four times and has a few scene stealing moments and still manages to look sober they can become a star and they can beat Trump.

"I'm not an insane psychopath." About all a candidate has to say in order to beat Trump...if he's not in prison already.
 
Springsteen is basically a dark pessimist at times because of his mood swings and meds that he takes for depression. This interview seems to have caught him in a dark moment.
 
There are thousands of actors who have expressed opinions on President Trump. The OPer should start a new thread on each one in the event anyone cares what any of them think about anything.

Someone should remind Bruce that four years ago it was Clinton who was supposed to waltz into the Whitehouse because the republicans had no apparent front runner and a field of 16 hopefuls.

Attack?!?!?!?!? There was no attack.

Let me clear this up right now before you go any further ..... there are few bigger Bruce fans than I am. His politics and mine are very very similar. I have seen him in concert many many times over the past forty years. I read his book. I buy his albums. I pay each month for the E Street Channel on Sirius XM radio and listen to it in the car every day .

All I was doing was trying to offer a reasonable explanation why he seemed so pessimistic about getting rid of the slime ball Trump.

Nobody should STFU unless they're actually lying - which means the president should tweet a little less often. Celebrities are well-placed to use their fame and support (and in many cases charity work and other good deeds) as a political platform to encourage those who might agree with them.

Unless Ted Nugent and Kanye West should also STFU, Springsteen and Schwarzenegger and Swift and Oprah can all keep yakking whether we agree with them or not. They're actually putting the 1st amendment to good use.

Democrats have two years to find and field a suitable candidate.

Given my disdain for Trump -- the man and his sui generisly iniquitous character , it matters not to me whom the Democrats nominate. The only thing that would alter my stance in that regard is the Republicans nominating someone other than Trump.
