Totally disagree. As long as the US has this voting system , the president will either be republican or democrat. There will never be a libertarian or Green president. In Australia they have a preferential system. You can vote third party and if they don't get enough first preference votes, then your second or third preference is counted. This way you can lodge a protest vote if you are unhappy with the major party candidate and still prevent the far right conservatives from being elected.

Matters not. You cannot tell people their vote doesn't count and have any credibility in such an assessment. The libertarian candidate is sitting at home right now just like Hillary is.

The only votes that don't count are the write-in "Mickey Mouse" and nonsense stuff like that. Because they literally do not get counted.

Believe the Democrats will have a pretty impressive pool of young attractive candidates to pick from for the 2020 Presidential nominee. Cory Booker, the Castro brothers, Kamala, etc. But don't see Beto as a viable player in the game. Some bad skeletons and no worthy resume.

Would personally like to see both parties try to come up with nominees with experience as State Governors. There is no substitute for actual executive experience.

I did not want Donald Trump to be President, but I wanted Hillarty Clinton in the job even less. Hence, the 'Orange Buffoon' the liberals love to hate (mostly deservedly) is in charge, and is doing exactly what the county needed. They can't get rid of him, as he has not committed an impeachable offense, as much as they will try to make something stick.
I don't know if "most people DO want someone else in the White House", but I'd be happy for a Conservative with a little class to take over the job starting in 2021. Beto and the rest of the Left Wing whackos, Ms Cortez, et al, are what I hope is a laugh, because their politics are antithical to a successful Republic, and the demise of the Democrat Party.

Jokes aside, some candidates do have good comebacks and a quick whit.
When you pay attention to some of the more serious candidates, they tend not to respond as fast. Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders come to mind. Those are often dismissed. Personally, I rather vote for someone like that than those who are eye candy and have a fast tongue.

Of course, Senator Obama would have won in 2008, but it also helped that his opponent completely lacked "charisma." Senator Obama, to many people, was smoking hot. Senator McCain, not so much!


So for 2020, the Dems are thinking: Lights! Camera! Action!

Yeah, and neither was Hillary, you are right. What I have yet to determine is if our election process is a complete farce, or if we, as citizen, are too easily duped...or both.
Again, my proposal ( I know, it is utopian) would be a complete anonymous election. Let candidates present their platform, without anyone knowing their gender, race, political party, religion....
