Trump is doing a usual move to deflect attention away from what is bad news for Trump to something else.
What a better time than to fire Sessions than now? Viola!

Democrats have drafted a wide-ranging contingency plan should Mueller be fired or President Donald Trump take other steps to quash the Russia investigation, like firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein or pardoning key witnesses.

Of top concern in the first 24 hours of such a move would be preventing Mueller’s documents from being destroyed and his team disbanded, according to interviews with nearly a dozen lawmakers, congressional aides, Democratic operatives and attorneys involved in the planning.

I thought of this too, today. I suspect it covers two goals: Getting rid of sessions, while taking the news cycle away from Trump losing the House and 7 governorships.

And producing possibly more evidence of trump’s intention to obstruct justice?

The goal is simply this: Suppress the invasion until reinforcements known as House Democrats arrive in early January. Gotta hold the line!

And producing possibly more evidence of trump’s intention to obstruct justice?
Trump don't fear legal repercussion. He knows for Presidents that politics supersedes law. 67 Senators. Where do you find them?

On tape, supporting party over country
They do that now, and their base cheers them on. I just don't see it. Not as long as the rabid Republican Trump base stays behind Trump. No Senator will go against Trump and his own constituents.

I meant on tape that implicated them in the investigation.

You lost me, here.

You mean tapes of Trump fixing a deal with Sessions' replacement? To kill Mueller's investigation?

Even so, I still don't see where you find 22 GOP Senators to convict.

This is why it's better to investigate Trump, but let him stink-up the Republican party instead of impeaching him.

Get his tax returns, get his banking records, find out the truth about his business dealings while in office, find out what he knew about various corruption scandals. Then investigate what he knew about the family separation policy at the border, why the lack of aid to Puerto-Rico, etc.

Put it all on television. Make sure that America hears from all the witnesses and experts. Hammer home that the Republicans have been hiding the truth (whatever it might be) for two years, and are as guilty as Trump, thus making them as responsible.

That's how you create a blue storm that damages the GOP for a generation.

Trump can be dealt with fairly easy, but we need to solidify the House and change demographics.

We do that by putting Trump's corruption on every TV room, with witnesses and evidence presented everyday.

But that's just it and the answer to Chomsy too; the GOP won't follow TRump down. You get those 22 or more if what is found out is outrageous enough. Sure you got that 20% of the TRumpling base, that just don't care, but if you get a solid 70% of the public hating the stench of Trump corruption and you will find previously complicit GOP senators go turncoat out of self preservation.

color me dubious

however, we do not yet know what evidence Mueller has
if it is explosively bad against tRump and documents that he willingly placed our nation at risk
reaching that number might not be so impossible

but careful what you wish for. who actually believes a wack evangelical such as pence would be any better

Even articles of impeachment on there own without the trial, may be enough to sink him in 2020.

Exactly. We dodged one party puppet in Hillary only to end up with Pence. I will stick with Trump until the next inevitable bought and paid for party puppet takes back the White House.

The entire landscape changed Tue, Trump no longer will have the likes of Nunes to protect him. The sooner he realizes this the better. Pelosi and the Dems can make his next two years miserable unless Trump plays along. Its a new day, and he best get used to oversight, lots of it !! An innocent man with nothing to hide should not fear scrutiny. The Dems have a comfy margin, the committees, and subpeana power, get used to it!!

Look we all understand that the midterms were a real butt****ing for Republicans, but you're going to need to be a little less hysterical.

Oh, and stop lying about how last night was the "weakest showing in the midterms for the opposition party in decades". It wasn't. You can keep crowing about your victories in 1994 and 2010 like some washed-up buffoon bragging about his days as a highschool football star, but the fact remains this was the biggest gain for Democrats since Watergate, and at a 3.7% unemployment rate no less.

While I'd likely be no fan of much of Pence's policies, it pales in comparison for my fear for the country with Trump at the helm. My problem here isn't just with policy, but with the man himself.

As to Pence, I suspect he would bring a sense of decorum (back) to the office, which would be a good start.

Pence would be a welcome relief.
