My first choice is Their leader ,which includes all aspects , every dimension, every corner of his life., A real broad based investigation will get the quickest results of anyone, They won't have to look far with this monster, second Kavanaugh, the country should have a real investigation of him, he's ugly enough as a person to make a ugly picture of the rights choice to destroy this democracy, to retain there very diminishing support, as the browning of America brings down this group. They know there only hope is to take away the votes of Democrats to stay in power and as a group they are such bad American that they have no qualms about selling out our republic to stay in power. They Need a Kavanaugh type person to do this. Then the son, then the son in law then the daughter. Easy pickings and if they can get the truth out fast enough the investigation won't get in the way or prejudice the lefts new power.
That's my order of importance as far as the investigations are concerned , if you have your own feel free to share them.

When Trump threatened to do it, that was considered an example of him being a fascist. Now we have an OP stating they want to see the Democratic party use that tactic like its normal business.

Quickest results to what end? impeachment is not removal and the Senate is not going to remove.

Kavanaugh??? You really want to have Congress open an investigation.....into what? Maybe lying to Congress. Suppose they take Kavanaugh down. Do you really think Trump will nominate somebody to your liking?

Subpoena power and Oversight means the House Dems will have the power to bog down Trump's administration nonsense for the last two years and leave him so damaged that his primary deficit, the fact that he does not have the where with all to expand his base will be the end of any reasonable effort at a second term.

Myself I want a slow, steady pace of Investigation starting with his idiot Cabinet or whats left of it. Zenke is a walking corruption machine. Carson, DeVos etc...rip through those corrupt clowns and in tandem link Trump's corruption to his Cabinet's corruption. They can "rip" through Cabinet corruption if they want. There is not much risk to the Dems for doing that. Even with that, they will need to cross their T's and dot their I's. Then at a pace that lands the direct Trump Investigations right on his effort in earnest to make a run at a second term go after Trump himself through the Oversight process.

The goal should be to leave Trump so damaged that the Dems could run Mickey Mouse and beat him for 2020.

This is not even a zero sum game. If the Dems overstep, they will pay for it and the scales will not be balanced. There is no real expectation that there would be a payoff to the Dems for taking the risk of overstepping. All risk with no reasonable expectation of reward is just bad politics though I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times Dems shoot themselves in the foot by simply being hideous political strategists.

By the way, Trump is literally dreaming if he thinks his threats of Investigative retaliation have any merit. They are hollow threats. That still does not relieve the Dems from being smart, cautious and thorough about what they do in oversight.

I am still waiting for President Stable Genius to investigate why approximately 500 children separated at the border still have not be re-united with their parents and are reaching the point where they will have been permanently orphaned by the United States of America. I would hope that the President would also investigate why the Pro-Life Trump Party continues to essentially ignore the horrors those children still face while the Trump Administration defies an order by a federal judge to reunite ALL children with their parents.

That would be two investigations I'd like to see the President of the United States undertake. We can post a list for the President if you believe the President can't think of anything to investigate.

Yes, it's so not normal. Why look at the GOP House under Obama. Hardly any investigations except the non-stop ones. It's unAmerican for the Democrats to launch investigations of a Republican POTUS or members of his cabinet! That's what the GOP does!

Sarcasm aside, Congress has a constitutional duty to oversee the executive branch. Obviously Democrats can take that too far, but what a lot of us witnessed with the House in particular was a body abdicating that role, and instead serving as an arm of the WH. Frankly I hope Schiff in his new role mostly defers to Mueller on the Russian stuff, but there is IMO a long overdue look under the hood of Trump's business relationships, especially post election, starting with Trump Hotel and going from there. I'd like to know more about how Trump (allegedly) personally intervened to kill the sale of the property right across from his hotel in D.C. that might have competed against his hotel.

We saw that throughout the Obama administration, throughout the Clinton years. You'll see it again. Your Dems in the House will spin their wheels until they are voted out. Won't take long.

Well you can make the case that some parents do not want their children back in their country of origin which says more about the threats they live under there than it does about whether they actually want their children or not.

To attempt to extrapolate not wanting their children from trying by any means to get their children out of desperate straights is just sad.

I was looking through the MSM posts for the thread that contains the information... I opened a thread because it was surprising to me and ironic given the cries how the parents supposedly wanted their children back.

This has already been investigated.

No one from the families will claim them or the people trying to claim them do not have status to claim them.
the last report from June is that they all have been reunited.
