With Trump shackled at home, Europeans fear more disruption abroad ... and rightly so.

A bored, frustrated Trump is a considerable threat to world markets and world security.

Maybe if Democratic House can manage to seduce him with the role of Great Compromiser and get some deal-making going with the Senate, the rest of the world will have some breathing room. But what are the odds of that?

With Pelosi & Schumer?

Yeah right!

Pretty soon you're going to learn that you can't trust Donald Trump. He'll say or do anything he thinks he needs to do in order to get re-elected and he doesn't care about anybody else, but himself.

Hopefully the leftists will not screw the economy, but they will just so they can blame DJT.

Well thankfully the Dems won the House so when the repercussions of Trump's Trade War hits, you'll have someone to blame for the economic downturn.

lol

LOL ... the stock market has flatlined for the year thanks to Trump's trade wars ... but it will be the left's fault if the economy crashes after its sugar high.

Gosh, that was clever of Republicans to engineer a Democratic takeover of the House to give Trump a scapegoat for the consequences of his economic Godzilla act.

Edit: what Ikari said. ;)

So, you agree with coddling other countries at the expense of the American worker?

We ain't doing **** for the American worker. We've already endangered jobs in America because of it, and that will catch up to us sooner or later. People are not going to bring manufacturing back to America on whole, they're just going to go to India or Vietnam or some other place.

American worker....HA.

The odds are none. The mutual hatred the Dems and Trump have for each other is too great for either to give an inch.

There were times when they would have worked together.

Some of the far right Republicans who through a monkey wrench into that effort were ousted last night.

There is a slim chance they can get that back -- if DACA is important enough to Democrats.

And if Trump doesn't pull the plug on Mueller.

People like you keep mentioning manufacturing jobs and it's a cop out argument to make.

It's not a cop out, even your link talked about how this is supposed to reboot manufacturing. It won't. We'll just find other places to produce stuff for cheap. It's nothing but a mummers play, and one that has great potential at backfiring.

The President INCREASED HIS POWER in the Senate, which is the body that APPROVES TRREATIES, and ALL appointees....

Trump has already given away your clean air, and your clean water, and the taxes normally collected. What else does he have left to give to keep the economy going?

The House babbling away will not matter much I think, and it was never like Congress was going to work together to get the work done anyways, in recent years damn little has gotten done in Congress regardless of which party was in charge.

At least this way we get more entertainment value out of the House.

The Chinese are even praying to Allah that you are right. But you aren’t. Trump is going to use his “personality” to call out the democrats at every turn. You see how he treats his friends. By the standards of decorom, Republicans used to bend over and take it - Like Mr. “too Damn Nice Romney” - while the democrats and tne press pummel them. That ship has sailed.

When Pelosi punishes a member for not toeing her line, Trump will break tradition and tell the nation what Pelosi did to So and So to derail “your” bill. No more secret back stabbing.

So Pelosi has met her match, Trump is not Barrack “Silly Putty” Obama!

I don't want Pelosi to be speaker but in a Pelosi versus the Demented-Rambler-in-Chief match, my money is on Pelosi. She is sharp. Trump is a mess.

The pearl-clutching from the people in that article makes me laugh.

They shouldn't worry. They are correct that Trump's abilities regarding international trade and foreign policy remains intact. But there is no indication that Trump is going to "double down on China, on Iran, on the Mexican border.” (whatever that means) He has his positions on all of that. He has his desired outcomes. Nothing has changed. He will still work to achieve his goals.

The Dems winning the House majority doesn't change any of that.

Actually a split government is the norm. It's common for the government to operate with a House and Senate of different parties than the Prez.

Pelosi is a partisan ass. There was a House member in Sana Rosa (wine country) as I recall that wasn't on board with some bill or another. She had EJ Gallo (huge bulk wine producer) himself call the guy how he planned to voted on the bill. A flat out veiled economic threat.

I doubt she will be speaker for long. BTW how come she is worth $26 million on a house member's salary? By selling you out to developers for her husband's construction company. Our new AG should be looking at that.

Manufacturing is up. Go read more instead of listening to the doomsayers.

Other places are closing, and we've already had to bail out the farming corporations once already. Major companies are not going to move manufacturing to the States, that for certain. And no one is going to invest major money in opening large plants since this whole trade deal thing can fall apart at any minute.
