Interestingly, you chart ends at the end of Obama's term. Been more than a year and a half of developments since then.
If that's what you got from the graph then you didn't understand what you were looking at. The point is that on November 8 Republicans hated the economy. On November 10 they loved the economy. Their love of the economy was directly influenced by the feeling of victory over their party winning back power. That was the political bump Trump got for the economy: a perception based on nothing more than a feeling of political victory.
