The "Conners" is tanking and on the way out... Who didn't see this coming?

The revival was a little forced in ways, trying to catch us up on the 20 years we had missed of their lives, but I was happy to see it and would have watched it to the end. We have the whole original run on DVD. :)
I actually thought the original Roseanne was good, until they won the ****ing lottery.

That last season was horrible!

Therefore I loved that the revival made a joke out of pretending it never happened.

They didn't think it was going to translate into a ratings blockbuster. They knew the chances of success were low. But they were going to have to pay the main actors whether they had another season or not, and this way the 200 other people involved in creating the show weren't out of jobs without warning.

It would have been great if the they had a surprise success, but they weren't counting on it. They were giving the franchise a soft landing instead of just ripping it out of existence.

And the little guys, cast and crew, had another chance to make a name for themselves.

Put that sow Rosie Odonnell on to replace the real Roseanne. At least the liberals would watch the crap.

As nutty, abrasive and offensive as Roseanne Barr is, it looks like she's going to get the last laugh. Just as I suspected, she's the one America tuned in to see and the ratings not only prove it, but signal the end for the incredibly short lived spin-off. According to the article ABC has ordered 1 more episode of The Conners, which will likely be the series ending episode.

The Roseanne remake brought something to American television that was sorely lacking today.... A show that made fun of both sides of the political spectrum. Removing Roseanne destroyed that, just as I knew it would. Let's face it, ABC killing off Roseanne, changing the show's name and attempting to keep the series going, was the network shoving their middle finger in her face. I still can't believe that ABC was stupid enough to think that the accolades they received from Hollywood and the MSM, for the political stance they took by immediately firing her, was going to somehow translate into a ratings blockbuster for The Conners.

If the network was smart, they would find a way to undo killing off Roseanne and get her back on the show. It would be a ratings windfall for them... but in today's political climate, we all know that will never happen. Political correctness has the entertainment industry by the balls.

ABC would never do anything to hurt the leftist mantra "Blacks are victims who need elected Democrats to take care of them . . . . And never accept anyone's apology. A racist remark is money in the bank for us elected Democrats."

Wrong

Actually ABC The Connors has been given the green light for 1 more episode, bringing the series to a total of 11 episodes, one more than originally intended, that is a good sign that ABC have faith in the series. Additionally I may add the short run is due to the cast have other commitments. Yes week two had low ratings, more than likely due to the start of the MLB WS. The Connors Halloween episode scored 7.8 million viewers , a solid number. And I don't believe Miss Barr would want to see it fail. She sold the IP to ABC so the cast and crew of 200 would not loose their livelihood

They should sell the show to fox

Ah I see, the Right have latched on to a sitcom to prove some lame point. The Connors has been ordered an additional episode DUE to its success 2 out of 3 weeks. See my post above. Personally I believe the show is better then its parent. The ensemble cast gets a chance to shine, and I dont have to suffer thru Miss Barrs mediocre acting. I watch the show to be entertained, not for sly political commentary.

My feelings, exactly. And I'm not being facetious here, at all.
They should save some money and just give whoever lives here a show.

The episodes would be identical. gomer.gif

You never seen Honey Boo Boo?

The epitome of trailer trash. What amazes me is how anyone could find such a thing as Honey Boo Boo entertaining.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Ratings for The Conners improved a little with a Halloween episode Tuesday, and the rest of ABC's comedy block rose as well.

The Conners posted a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 with its Halloween outing — carrying on a tradition from predecessor Roseanne. The show rose a tenth of a point versus last week. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/conners-is-us-tv-ratings-tuesday-oct-30-2018-1156712

I guess a 10th of a point matters because the article notes that "NCIS," the most watched show, also gained a tenth.

Of course it doesn't work without Rosanne. She's the namesake of the whole thing.

This is horrible! We can't have sit coms being cancelled! We need to just accept the racists, praise them and support them. If we don't, we could lose everything that matters, like a tv show.

11 'likes' and one idiotic racist brain fart. I'll take it.
