Hard to argue with a lot of that, but what examples of #7 do you have in mind? Are the 'blame the other side' folk noteworthy, or almost as fringe as the perpetrators themselves? Or are the examples instances of "We condemn the violence, but..."?
There's a pretty big gap between #6 and #8 ("At some point the violence will no longer be limited to single extremists") and, as folk like Sceptic Bob and lwf have pointed out, there's a massive inertia against serious destabilization - even a peaceful breakup of the country is hard to imagine, never mind civil war!

The examples of number 7 are just as you say. Just as extreme as the extremists. An example was a thread on here that said, "Thank you Trump for the dead Jews and bombs" or words to that affect. This talk is just as demented as the killer's rhetoric.
Though many do not believe a major war will erupt, I am not among them. Our history has proven we would rather lose a war than admit to a mistake.
There was also a US Senator in 1860 who said he would be able to wipe up all the blood spilled with his handkerchief of a war broke out.
The famous Civil War historian Shelby Foote said someone might make a master's thesis by calculating how many handkerchiefs it would take to wipe up the blood of almost a million people....if you count civilians and the ten year period of killing AFTER the war was over.
Like i said, many may not believe me and appeal to "the better angels of our nature", but that has been tried before and it failed miserably.
There is something else. I will say it now to you because I can sense in your aura you are more sensitive to some things.
The "something else" is a deep feeling I get that can not be explained about some coming dark days.
Yes, i have been a survivalist, but this is different. The deep down feeling I get about the coming dark days are like Russia was during their revolution.
Very few pitched battles of major armies, but instead small unending skirmishes and a general feeling of fear and hunger all over the country.
As an example, a few days ago I finished a jar of some of my favorite fig preserves. As I was going to toss the jar and lid in the trash, I looked at it and said...you know, that lid and jar are completely waterproof and it holds in liquids. It might be needed and life sustaining one day. So I washed it out and put it up in a tub in my storage shed.
I may be an old man when it comes, but when it does it will be horrific with its famine, random persecutions, and social upheaval. I can't put my finger on exactly when but I definitely have a deep down knowledge it definitely WILL happen. The storm clouds are getting darker and darker.
Some survivalists put all their efforts into guns and ammo and not much else. I put my efforts into anything that can HEAL and bring comfort to the injured and hurt.
Whiskey and Vodka have been used medicinally for quite some time.
That fig preserves jar has Vodka in it. My Russian teacher showed me how warm Vodka on a rag and soothe deep down muscle aches.
