Nothing happens that causes companies to lose money voluntarily without legislation. I'm pretty sure about that.

IF Obama had tried to use the ACA authority to impose price control and declared he was basing prices on price controls imposed by European governments.. what do you think would have happened?

Please answer that. Would YOU have supported that? Would YOU be praising Obama?

Is it just mere coincidence that trump is touting lower drug prices, a 10% middle class tax break, just before Election Day. They are just more lies, from the king of liars.

...using a law he's still pledging to repeal. He's either lying about repealing the ACA or lying about using it to go after drug prices.

He sure didn't have much reluctance to legislating from the Oval Office on many other topics; remember the "I have a phone, and a pen" mantra. IF the authority was actually IN ACA why wouldn't he use it?

There's no "if" here, the Trump administration is specifically invoking 1115A waiver authority to do this, which is a creation of the Affordable Care Act.

As for Obama doing it, why don't you game that out for us? What happens when the Secret Muslim Kenyan Socialist declares that we're going to ask Europe what the price of drugs should be and then unilaterally use the power of the federal government (using the dreaded Obamacare, no less!) to impose those prices? How do you expect that goes for him? How do you expect hacks like yourself would respond?

Okay, would you embrace price-setting under the Obama administration or the next Dem administration (because, spoiler alert, there's almost certainly going to be more Trumpesque price-setting in health care under the next Dem administration)?

I'm sure Trump will have Repub congress-critters (and their lobbyist masters) trying to explain this to him. I'm hoping they fail and Trump manages to pull it off. It would likely be the first thing Trump has done that I enthusiastically agree with.

Actually not true.. chemotherapy can be in pill form taken at home.. or injections at home or creams that can be taken at home.

I don't really care about wasting time with "what if's" it didn't happen because Obama never tried it. When did Obama ever back off because of "WHAT IF the Republicans don't like it? He's your omnipotent hero why would a few whimpers from the impotent Republicans made any difference? I'd bet that on an issue like drug prices the squishy Republicans like Collins would have crossed the line to vote with Dems.

Secondly, IF you're implying that Obama - the guy who roostered "hey, I won, elections have consequences" and promised a cooler planet and lower oceans was going to hide under the Oval Office desk because a few Republicans whimpered a little, then you're admitting Mr. Pen and Phone was a phony.

Ummm... guess what? You were just given an example.. and your REFUSAL TO ANSWER.. is the reason. Because IF Obama HAD used the ACA to try and bring price controls European style.. using European countries as a model.. it would have given the republicans more fodder than they could shake a stick at..and likely calls for removing the ACA would have tripled. It suffered enough from the outright lies like "it has death panels in it"..

By the way..the democrats backed off the public option as well.. in order to try and get compromise with republicans in an effort of bipartisanship..

Well first.. I did not vote for Obama.. or for Clinton for that matter. But.. I am honest... and the honesty is this. Obama is not a phony by any means. HE and the democrats DID make sweeping healthcare changes.. some for the good.. some not so good.. but they DID get the job done.. and started a fix on a lot of things. They DID something to try and make the country better.. and they took a political hit for it. now.. you would call that "being a phony".

Well.. lets contrast that with my party.. who spent 7 years lambasting obamacare.. who tried.. how many times to repeal it.. who claimed they would "repeal and replace". Whose party leader.. MR TRUMP.. claimed... "
