You missed the point... points...

1. Leftists are the traditional violent ones. It’s a long history too.

2. The press was making claims more absurd than the OP. And ignoring other very recent attacks... which used WMD... ricin... on Republicans.

It was never the "simplest solution" for a very obvious reason. What your deduction neglected was the powerful motivating force that hate can be.

Picture in your mind the hate that you have for liberals. Give it a shape and a weight. Now increase the size and weight of that hate until it is so great you can no longer hold it up. That was Cesar Sayoc's hatred. A Republican's motivation for sending the pipe bombs doesn't need to be calculated or cunning. It just needs to be filled with enough hate.
