The Timely Caravan

I just saw on tv how the horde knocked down the wall in Mexico, and continue their march towards the USA.

Here's how the exodus is described in some parts:

Central American migrants in a mass caravan have clashed with Mexican riot police guarding a border post on the country’s southern frontier.

About 50 migrants managed to push their way through. The rest retreated after officers unleashed pepper spray. Some in the caravan threw rocks.

Migrants in a caravan traveling through Central America have broken down gates at a border crossing and are streaming toward a bridge to Mexico.

Young men began violently tugging on the barrier and finally succeeded in tearing it down.

Men, women and children then rushed through toward the bridge, about 150 yards (137 meters) away.

Migrants in a mass caravan are chanting that “one way or another, we will pass” as they move toward a bridge on the Guatemala-Mexico border.

Mexico’s ambassador to Guatemala said his country had decided to enforce a policy of “metered entry” in the face of the thousands clamoring to cross.

Whether these migrants are desperate or not, how can any country let a horde bully and push their way through your border, anytime they please?
This is the new norm.


This is definitely about national security.



I question the timing of this caravan - quite timely that it'll be the mid-term election soon!

I won't be surprised if this was carefully planned, to make for another slew of "heart-wrenching" photo-ops of "migrants" being oppressed by a heartless, evil Trump!


Americans should watch closely how the Democrats will make a
play for this!


Whether what stripe you are - liberal or conservative - you've got to seriously think what's best for your own country.

Total nonsense. This only strengthens conservative talking points as they hyperbolize about "torrents" and an "onslaught" of dangerous criminal immigrants. "Clutch your pearls, white women! There's a grooming gang of immigrants ready to tear down the walls to rape you!" People like you and Trump are already "making a play for this" to attempt to justify the rest of your anti-immigrant policies. You're using this heart breaking situation to push your own agenda.

No significant portion of the left supports open borders or people physically breaking down walls to enter countries. The fact that you think this is a liberal conspiracy to influence the election shows just how off-the-rails you are.

Just heard a commentator on my favorite and only cable news channel (FOX, of course) succinctly sum up the ladies and gentlemen who have simply decided to barge their way into our country: It's a declaration of war on their part​.

Only countries can declare war against other countries. A few dozen people can't declare war on the US. Your analogy is stupid and hyperbole.
 
The GOP needs the caravans.

The Kavanaugh bump is already slipping. There is no dip in (D) enthusiasm. Progressives have been fired up since Nov. 9.

Trump have given progressives more than 100 straight weeks of debacles. Trump's mouth is a gift that just keeps giving.



The migrant caravan is Donald Trump's mess. ..and if he is true to form, he will screw this one up like all the rest of his failures.

The Republicans totally failed on

ACA repeal
No NK deal
No Iran deal
Trade deficit fix
Border wall fail
Total immigration failure
Higher Deficit and Record Debt
Jittery Stock Market
Higher interest rates

Why would anyone vote Republican.

They won't get to the US border in time for the elections, so I am not sure how much it will affect the elections.

Right now it is Mexico's mess.
 
They sure aren't going to run on their tax plan or plans to "reform" entitlements. They are going to their bread and butter, nativism and reactionary politics.

They would of found something to run on even without this caravan.
 
Populist and GOP Hero Chump promised to build a wall paid for by Mexico along the Mexican-United States border. Even with a GOP-majority in both sides of Congress, Chump did not fulfill his promise.

Chump predictably refuses to take responsibility for his unfilled promise.

Hahahahahaha, it's not the conservatives screaming about "hoards" and "torrents" of "criminal immigrants" breaking down the wall to get us sowing racial discord, it's the people calling conservatives out for exaggerating and spreading fear for political gain. Classic 1984 level double-speak. Truth is not truth and the opposite of truth is truth, right?

I mean you do know that the President, even with pen and phone in hand like the last, real deal true chump, cannot just force Congress to allocate funds? But even with that, with the new Mexico trade deal we will probably enjoy profitablitiy sufficient to pay for a wall, too. Yano?

You do see the swamp slowly, too slowly I agree but its been less than two years even, self draining, right? So many corrupt officials out of various departments where they had been installed by the former neo socialist. Especially prominent are all the ones in the FBI and DOJ fired, retired, under investigation or on their way to being fired, retired and/or under investigation... but also self draining congress with establishment types like Ryan, Flake, Corker bowing out... things are steadily improving.

Examples, undocumented instead of illegal, workplace violence/isolated extremeist, "random" shootings instead of acts by Radical Muslim Jihadist/Terrorists, kinetic military action instead of the word war... you folks use your fake news and non stop double-triple-gibber-speak none of which is truth... ALL T H E TIME.

Non citizens groups in other countries heading our way, violently breaking down barriers in their path to get to, specificially, OUR borders to unlawfully enter are "hordes" [ the proper usage,"hoard"ing having to do with overly accumulating, btw ] at the gates.

Matter of fact have just returned to go up North to see the fall colors, visit family/friends AND... to vote. You know, you never seem to really answer any of my questions or debate. Just here passing/wasting others time? Mumbo Jumbo and Scrambled Brain syndrome arent meaningful/helpful assertions.

South Beach was amazing, btw. Love the Art Deco styling. Vizcaya was worth admission, Versailles cuban restaurant in Little Havana super yummy, the Space Coast has been wonderful, the seafood, Italian and BBQ excellent.

I can't figure out why the left would believe that letting thousands of migrants into the country just before mid terms would help them win seats, or even that President Trump would let them enter. Because if this I tend to discount the timing issue. I also question the ability of anyone having the ability to organize an event such as this 1700 miles from the border.

Because we have mass border invaders and elections at the same time does not mean the two are related.

I have my style and preferences when responding to poorly communicated lowbrow questions from a well-known DP Member who has absolutely no reputation in this forum for strong debate skills.

In an effort to post content related to the thread topic, I provided strong visual and audio evidence Chump promised to build a border wall paid for by Mexico. You offered poorly written excuses to why he never fulfilled this promise. You referenced the FBI, the DOJ, and some mythical notion of a self-draining swamp and Congress.

Somehow, and laughably so, you seem to think Chump has made great strides at making America Great... in spite of a nearly trillion dollar increase in our federal debt in a single year, rising interest rates, a White House operating under chaos, the Mueller Investigation and the likely turn in power in the House of Representatives.

Peace to you and yours! Thank you for voting! I expect to cancel out most of your state-wide votes.

I plan on voting YES on Amendments 3, 4, 9 and 13.
 
Even living in the UK we are aware of what Mexicans are like. They are like Pakistanis without Islam. Happy to create ghettos, sell drugs, and rape your daughter. Like I said in another thread, let the army use them as target practice. On the positive side though, I quite like Mexican food :)

Then you really don't know much, because first off they are not Mexicans, secondly nothing you said is true about Mexicans in general other than they are not Muslims, do you even know what is Mexican food is, somehow I doubt it.

I have met loads of Mexicans, and many when I have been in the states. Please tell me if they are proportionally represented in your prisons. I think you know the answer
