Trump praises congressman for body slamming reporter

https://nypost.com/2018/10/18/trump-congressman-who-body-slammed-reporter-is-my-kind-of-guy/

WASHINGTON – President Trump at a rally in Montana Thursday praised the state’s congressman for body slamming a reporter — and said the assault helped him win a seat in the US House.

Speaking to a Missoula event, Trump showered GOP Rep. Greg Gianforte with praise and recalled the candidate assaulting Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs last year for trying to ask a question.

“Any guy that can do a body slam, he’s my kind of guy,” Trump said to applause. “I shouldn’t say that — (but) there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”

Trump said he initially thought Gianforte’s act of violence would hurt his election chances, but “then I said ‘well, wait a minute, I know Montana pretty well, I think it might help him.’ And it did!” Trump said. “He’s a great guy. Tough cookie.”

I don't really know what to say about this but considering the fact that for the past two weeks the news headlines have been all about a Washington Post journalist being murdered. This praise by Trump for a man running for Congress that body slammed a reporter is a bit over the top. It's more revving up his base and inciting more violence, but what else can we expect from this idiot.

I don't like leftie journalists/propaganda flunkies either. The left is extremely dishonest and are out to fool the masses with commie propaganda and other BS. Total criminal mindedness. The criminal left has no right to come in here riding a high horse and giving us lectures about Trump or this congressman since smart people can see right to the core of their evil hypocrite hearts. We've heard the news about lefties attacking congressional candidates and leftie antifa thugs rioting in the streets. WTF? What makes these lefties wanna lecture to us when they are the worst of all? Get real!

You're standing on your head.

Even if that were the case, the high moral ground would be underneath me. Gravity related to the direction my feet point.

lol

Actually I do not believe the congressman assaulted the FAKE NEWS pseudo reporter, I am convinced it was self defense. These so-called journalists get up in peoples faces and instigate acts of self defense. I think the busy body leftie deserved to get slamdunked to the concrete floor. The whole damned country cheered and Trump was right, the candidate surged ahead in the polls because the public has no respect for the busy body nosey leftie FAKE NEWS either. haha

An example of why I hate the "both-sides-do-it" fence sitters.

Only one side has a president praising a member of congress for assaulting a journalist. Can Trump do that with a straight face while complaining about Maxine Waters calling for peaceful resistance?

This is the new political landscape. The Left introduced it, you all need to learn to live with it.

Gravity decides which way is up?

Gravity decides which way is up?

Generally, as we define the direction of gravity as down.

lol

But look at what's in this thread, another Trumpeteer above us excusing the exalting of violence by claiming the Democrats did it first and that's how it is now. What we haven't seen is anyone on the right denouncing it, Trumpeteer or no.

So if a Black Hole came close to Earth and created gravitational pull, it would suddenly become up and the Earth would suddenly become down?

Also, you said I excused violence. Quote me or stop lying about my positions.

WTF are you talking about?

Also I didn't say YOU excused violence. So quit lying.

Well of course. Even Trump knows Republicans are violent/love violence to solve their problems, even if they won't admit it - and engage in projection calling the Dems angry mobs.

Who was this about then:

Who was this about then:

I said the Trumpeteer above us. The post directly above yours, which is.....apdst. Who said?

"This is the new political landscape. The Left introduced it, you all need to learn to live with it."

So what's that? An excuse for Trump's endorsement of violence by deflecting and saying that the left started it, so that's how it is now.

It would be quite refreshing if one of those fabled violence-deniers on the right would come into this thread and actually condemn what Trump has said. I highly doubt it will be a Trumpeteer (of whom, my original comment you apparently took offense to was limited to), but maybe generally someone on the right?

My moral high ground is still here.

My moral high ground is still here.

Republicans lost any moral high ground forever when they defended Trumps praise of Nazis as good people.

For tax cuts and overturning Roe v Wade, they would blindly follow Satan through the gates of Hell, and claim he's the savior.

No, violence from the Right started with Timothy McVey, all those years ago.

Oh, well, if you want to play that stupid game...violence by the Left started in 1919.

Trump talks off the cuff, not off consultant written speeches, at rallies. One of the things people like about him.

And one of the things that keeps reminding everyone how much of an ass?!@# he really is.

As always, the more morally empty the Republican Party becomes, the louder they have to scream about how bad Democrats are to rationalize their free-fall into moral bankruptcy.

It's lies like this that cause people to laugh at Liberals.

If by 'garbage' you mean Trump then no, there's already enough garbage on him to sink a garbage skow to the bottom of the Atlantic. This is his about his insistence at inciting violence against reporters despite the fact that one was murdered by his cash cow buddies, the Saudis.

Did you see all the democrats inciting violence against Trump supporters? Is that ok?

Trump's a *****, he would run like a BABY if he thought his personal safety was in jeopardy. Trump is all buckle and no cows.

Was every single person there, a nazi? 100%?

There is little political risk in calling out Nazis, yet he refused to do it. That speaks volumes.

I understand that calling out white supremacist would have been political suicide for a Republican, but Nazis - not so much - yet he glossed over them.

So, are you saying that 100% of the people, on both sides, that day, were scumbags?
