LA County Admits Number Of Registered Voters At 144% Of Resident Citizens Of Voting Age

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017...es-more-registered-voters-voting-age-citizens

For people who take the extreme position that illegal voting or voter fraud isn't a problem, this is yet more evidence that it is a bit of problem.

Assuming that the article is accurate...something I'm not 100% sold on... 144% of a population area that consists of 9.81 million people is NOT a small amount. Particularly when you take into account of the fact that NO county in the entire US ever has a 100% voter registration count. Unless something hinky is going on...

But there's no voter fraud, especaiilly in California!!!!

That's only A FEW MILLION ILLEGAL REGISTRATIONS OT VOTE in OUR ELECTIONS...that's all.

Let's see...144% of APROX. FOUR MILLION voting age adults....that's only 5, 760,000... which is ONLY 1,760,000 ILLEGALLY REGISTERED VOTERS ....that's all..and THAT's just LA...

If the quoted numbers are true, it’d only be evidence of inconsistency between the number of names on the voter registration and the number of legitimate voters estimated based on census data. It doesn’t say anything as to why there is that inconsistency and it’s probably a whole range of things – people who have died or moved are commonly not removed from voter registration for example.

The entire voter registration system in the US clearly needs a major overhaul and as it stands it does open doors for some fraudulent voting but it’s a much wider and deeper issue than most of the people making noise about it would like to admit. Put simply, it isn’t all about immigrants and it won’t be magically solved with voter ID.

Says WHO? On what basis have you made this "CONVENIENT" determination?

Huh. Odd thing to contend, since there's absolutely no credible evidence that any illegals voted in the last elections.

That and in some districts where 101.7% of the registered voters in the Cleveland area voted for barry

There's even less credible evidence they didn't.

ZERO HEDGE, (THE OP SOURCE) , has been right about EVERYTHING they've scooped, so far.

They have the best investigative journalists OUT THERE.

The Sacramento Bee is a LOCAL PAPER.

I'm starting to get an understanding of where you're coming from on your posts. Be careful of immersing yourself solely in news that serves only to reaffirm your current political views. It's certainly comfortable, but it can easily lead to an abject terror of anything that contradicts it. A little challenge to your preconceived notions now and again can temper this terror, if you can muster the courage to allow it.

What difference does it make unless there are 144% more actual votes in the county.
There shouldn't be a need to register anyway with deadlines etc. Anyone should be able to go to the polls on voting day with whatever they have for id and vote. It's a stupid archaic policy.

It's not though. That number includes "inactive voters" still on the rolls who have moved or died. But even in California they still need to provide proof of residence before being able to vote again.

I'll grant you that dead people are likely to make up some of the figure, but you must grant me that they unlikely to make up all of it. Illegal voters are likely to make up some of that number. You are wrong to say that illegitimate voter registration is not evidence of illegal voting. It's not proof by itself, but it is evidence that can be combined with other evidence to show that illegal voting is taking place. Wouldn't you find illegal voting to be more likely if ineligible voters were allowed on the voter registration lists? I would.

I know where I vote same day registration exists, but registering early allows a person to work out any issues they may have registering before the actual vote, and then they can vote more quickly by bypassing the registration line the day of. I know from experience.

Check your source. This is a conspiracy-friendly alt-right blog.

What a surprise, another Leftist attacking the source instead of the substance. Even Leftist activist fact-checkers like Snopes have admitted this is the case. These counties themselves have admitted it's true that there are more registered voters than eligible voters. You may want to take a new approach to discovering the truth.

I expect there will be ineligible voters who actually vote on every register and I expect there will be deceased, moved or non-voting but ineligible citizens on every register. These raw numbers are largly meaningless on their own (though the clarification in the Sacramento Bee others have linked helped).

I didn’t actually say that but I did say that badly managed voter registration opens the door to fraudulent voting. It shouldn’t need to be proven to be happened at any significant scale to want to improve the registration system anyway.

The point is that if you don’t clear up the general mess of voter registration, you’ll never be able to properly assess and address the issue of fraudulent voting. The question is whether these figures are being raising as a basis to push for such a general clean up or as a basis to rant about “evil immigrants stealing our elections!” for political gain.

It doesn't matter what the reason or intention is for people wanting to stop illegal voting or have a more accurate voter registration lists. Those are legitimate causes.

Since when did 'credible evidence' matter?

Since when did 'credible evidence' matter?

That's right, this is one of the most important things that the leaders of this society have to get right...We The People have the right to demand and get a full independent audit and thus check the quality of their work any time we want, and I want it now!

Red state Georgia has this beat..

From your link:

Some 670 ballots were cast, according to the Georgia secretary of state’s office, indicating a 243 percent turnout.

But on Tuesday at 10 a.m., the number of registered voters on the secretary of state’s website was changed for Mud Creek to 3,704 registered voters, reflecting a more likely turnout of about 18 percent.
