Elizabeth Warren's DNA video is meant to send a signal to Democrats: I'm running -- and I am going to fight back.

Again what part and based on what logic.... she proved her dna/heritage to be what she said it was, she choose to bring that info forward and he reneged his bet even lying that he made it....and he keeps using bigots slurs....
what part of that is a win? LMAO . . . i mean toe extremists im sure it is but not to anybody rational and objective right left or center....

Sure. She won the $1M bet. No doubt. Now she is going to be a ****ing joke. And, if you can't figure out why in one try, I'll give you 64 to 1024 guesses.

I'm pretty much in agreement with this. While Trump is correct in his criticism of her claiming to be a minority, calling her pocahontas is inappropriate. This whole thing blew up badly for her and would have been much worse if Trump were able to show some restraint.

I agree-the proper name to call her include

Fauxchontas
Lieyawatha
Spouting Bull

And, it blew up in her face. Now she needs to put on her big girl shorts and walk away before she becomes the national laughing stock---oops, too late.

When something harmless that your mother teaches you about your family "blows up in your face" there is a problem -- and it's not with Warren.

It's with the haters who turned something so innocent into a weapon.

Trump calls Elizabeth Warren 'Pocahontas' again after she reveals DNA results

1/64 to 1/1024th American Indian is 1.5% max to 0.1% min Indian blood. I would be stunned if the margin of error of the test is much better than the former, and I know it isn't anywhere near accurate enough to declare the latter as a legitimate number. They may as well just say, "there is a 0 to 1% chance she is American Indian."

So, Trump continues to mock a white person who is dubiously pretending to be Native American. Sheer brilliance. Meanwhile, Liz rolls around in the dog pile she stepped in.

Hats off where it is due. Trump kicked Liz's ass on this one. Time to move on, Lady Warren. Time to move on.

And this deserves its own thread why ?

She has some native ancestry, and even if she didn't, in no way is it appropriate to call her Pocahontas.

No hats are due. You're applauding Trump for continuing to be a horrible person.

Aside from Trump's usual name-calling, why is Warren's lie his fault?
Which is worse? His razzing her for faking it, or her faking that she is a minority?

Troll Level: POTUS

That's the highest you can attain.

He's a troll, and he played this one perfectly. Sad to say, Trump wins this round.

In the event that Warren was actually a Native-American, the answer is Trump's name calling.

In the event (now proven) that Warren was wrong and used her fake status to benefit herself, the answer is Trump's name calling.

Glad to clear that up.:)

B.S.

It's wrong. Period.

He is making fun of her for believing something she was taught as a child. And he is doing it in culturally inappropriate terms. You are defending someone who called a black Apprentice contestant Uncle Tom and had to have it explained to him that this was not cool.

He didn't care if she really had any native heritage or not -- he started calling her Pocahontas to score political points. If you are part of the group he was pandering to, then you should be embarrassed that he thinks so poorly of you.

He didn't care about the facts when he said Obama was born in Kenya and was not legitimately president.

His behavior is inappropriate, and it's not justified by any after-the-fact discoveries about how close Elizabeth Warren's mother was to being accurate. That even Calamity would show that he's becoming numb to how wrong it is ... that is the sad takeaway of this thread.

No... and I don't find it culturally inappropriate unless it's meant to be racist... which it isn't... context matters.

She did what millions of other people are doing -- she got her DNA tested. It backed up what her mother taught her.

There's no dying on hills here.

But apparently there is now otherwise decent people congratulating Trump for being a klan-pandering jerk.

Naw, she didn't publish an Ancestry.com result as it would have said "none" for NA. She had to find someone that goes back to the origins of humanoids.

And this deserves its own thread why ?

Watching a politician pursuing the presidency crash and burn is definitely newsworthy.

A bet rather than shutting up about it, she'll go full Hilary and talk about this incessantly, explaining who else's fault it is and otherwise trying to talk her way out of it.

lol you only give two cents because it's Elizabeth Warren... I doubt you would have that same compassion, understanding, giving the benefit of the doubt if we were talking about someone who wasn't progressive.

but hey..... maybe your Mother Theresa Idk

No, the bet was over whether she is an Indian, not whether she is only 99% white. The test proved by all legal, social and N.A. standards that she's Caucasian, not Native America. Go read the exact words of Trump's bet. It was NOT over whether Warren lied about having some distant NA ancestor. It was specifically over whether she is an Indian.

Trump won the bet. She's white, not Native American.

aaaand again with another dodge thats what i thought you got NOTHING as usual lmao

The problem is when you use some tale your mother told you that you are 1/32th N.A. to pursue an affirmative action job at the most prestigious university in the country - when as a lawyer she 100% knew even if true 1/32nd does not qualify.

She also lied in often saying her N.A. heritage is important to her, when the time she has spent with Cherokee activity is absolutely none, zero, nada. All of it was a lie, even if she did believe her mother. As a LAWYER she knew that then and now. So do we all.

Sure, you'll defend her regardless, but facts are facts and they aren't in her favor. You know it too.

LMAO why dont you post the "exact words" for us with links and facts backing up your claim you just made? :popcorn2:

You're sort of right. I don't have the same compassion for Hillary, for example.

But that comparison is also sort of funny, because Calamity started this thread to bash Warren for taking a test to confirm innocent family lore (and he's praising Trump's disgusting behavior as some kind of win), but over in a Hillary thread I was reading yesterday he was defending Hillary's selfish, destructive stupidity and the damage she is doing to traditionally Democratic causes that she supposedly cares about.

I think you are belittling the situation just a bit in order to make light of what Warren did. Warren self-identified as a Native American woman despite the fact that she actually has less Native American ancestry than the average European-american, she is literally about as white as it gets. This would be the equivalent to Rachel Dolezal getting a DNA test and using an ancestor up to 10 generations separated from her to justify her claim to be African-American. People would rightly find Rachel absurd but because of politics it is excused for Warren.

I just heard on the radio that the professor did not even compare her genes to native americans. He instead used Mexican and south American genes for his comparison.

She didn't use the claim to try to get a job. Harvard just latched onto it after she was hired because they were so desperate to claim a minority ... since they had done such a sucky job of minority outreach.

LIKE MANY AMERICANS, Warren believed it was part of her heritage, but she didn't use it to try to get a job.

Nothing nefarious. Not her fault Harvard tried to use her for cover to deflect from their failings.

I didn't say anything about her using it to get a job, did I?

How would Harvard know about such a thing, unless she advised them of it? What were Harvard's failings?
