Questions from Kavanaugh and Justice Neil Gorsuch suggested they could vote against the Trump administration and side with a criminal defendant from Florida who is fighting an increase in his sentence from just over six years to possibly more than 15 years.

There were no disruptions in the courtroom and the justices laughed at each other's jokes. Justice Sonia Sotomayor even appeared to playfully pinch Gorsuch's arm as she asked a question about the kind of physical force necessary to have a crime be treated as violent under a federal enhanced sentencing law.

Jovial mood on Kavanaugh's first day on the bench

Seems that Kavanaugh had a good day.

"The quip, 'bitches be trippin', was met with raucous laughter."

It's nice to hear that our justices are getting along.

except for some of the scathing reviews that get handled in the minority opinions the justices in general usually get along.
there are times they really butt heads on rulings but it is what it is.

The mood was jovial was it? Great, um, "news".

It's easier to get along with someone who hasn't yet destroyed human rights for women or allowed a criminal president to remain unscathed. Let's see how they get along in a couple of years.

The only people out to destroy human rights are the leftist automatons the Democrats send out daily to harass people and attack property.

Uhm, slow news day ? Get back to us if the Justices mens room runs out of toilet paper.

Has nothing to do with "slow news day". It has to do with showing that our SCOTUS judges ARE working together and not against each other.

Admittedly I think that the part where I quoted that Kavanaugh and Gorsuch looks to be voting against the Trump administration on this issue is rather significant also. It shows that they're not necessarily going to agree with Trump. Which means all the hubbub about them (in particular Kavanaugh) will vote to protect Trump as being a nothing burger. Granted its a small thing at this point in time. But it is an indication.

Ahh yes, the predictable "Just wait! You'll see!" crystal ball fallacy.

just be kinda just miserable to live in your world. i mean honestly. the doom and gloom that you guys spread all over the place life is just horrible for you.
it just has to be.

Well, you're wrong. The Republican platform is to deny women a right to their own bodies so whatever individuals who you classify as "leftist" do, it pales in comparison to the institutionalized slavery that the conservatives shamelessly advocate.

Putting aside your barely intelligible post, I hope that Kavanaugh isn't the giant douche he appears to be. Let's just see.

Ah, the predictably reductionist denial of the right, who like to pretend their policies aren't elitist as they are and their people aren't whackadoodles. Somebody needs to send some mirrors to the Republican headquarters so they don't have to keep being surprised to learn about their inhumanity the hard way.

Actually it was quite clear.

Trump elected president: OMG the world is going to end. it is the end of freedom and everything else.
(hasn't happened)

Gorsuch Nominated to the SCOTUS: OMG the world is going to end. It is the end of freedom and everything else.
(hasn't happened).

Kavanaugh Nominated to the SCOTUS: Please see above.

so as i stated it is miserable to live in your universe. the doom and gloom that you guys spread it just has to be miserable.
me i am quiet fine.

Yes, it's very nice to see the SCOTUS getting along despite the left's attempt at encouraging violence.

Putting aside those straw men, the Republican platform IS anti-freedom, so pretending it's not is an interesting bit of fantasy.

Hey, I understand that in American politics you have to dance with "the boy who brung ya". So, I get it that everyone on the right has to now pretend that the fat, orange douche in the oval office is really not those things. I get it. But, do me a favor and stop acting like I should pretend along with you.

This isn't about doom and gloom any more than it was when Nixon was caught being a criminal. It's about truth, which is occasionally not something to be happy about.

Putting aside the hyperbole and strawman

As usual nothing to do with what is being discussed.
