This is a Great Political AD

I agree that as political ads go, this is one of the better ones. And it is probably sufficient to encourage Democrat votes but not so much Republican votes. Democrats seem to lean toward identity politics. Republicans are generally--not always but generally--more policy and effectiveness oriented.

Just having a resume' is not sufficient to get my vote.
Looking adorable and being a pleasant person or politically correct is not sufficient to get my vote.
And being a woman is certainly not sufficient to get my vote.

I want to know what these women believe, what they stand for, what they really will and will not support not just with lip service but with your congressional vote, and you better be able to convince me you really mean it. I am sick to death of a proper, poll tested, scripted, groomed, and polished permanent political class that says whatever is necessary to get elected, and then promptly puts that all on the shelf and pretty much forgets about it once safely in office.

The ad provides nothing of what I want to know about these candidates before I would support them for elected office. But as these ads go, it is a good ad.

It's a good ad as far as production value and strong performances from the women, who all seem terrific.
But when the ad ended, I didn't know what party they were with. I assumed Dem because of the "vote for me I have a vagina" thing, but then it's heavily referencing the military, and I don't link the Dems with making our military a top priority.
So, I thought maybe they're Republicans.

Great these women are running in a few different states. Have no clue what they believe, stand for and how they lean politically.

I don't have a number, but I know that it's not near enough. The situation is improving though, at least on the Democratic side. Thanks to the "Me Too" movement, there're many more women running for office in blue states.

But how many conservative women run for office in red states? Like the 98 pound weakling who knows he'll never make the US Olympic wrestling team, most Republican women know which gender most conservative men vote for...

That's why Sarah Palin was so popular with the GOP base right?

Ya know, its amazing. The left is always talking about how people shouldn't judge anyone by the color of their skin, their sex, or their age....yet here the new phrase being used by the left...."old, white, and male". Do as I say and not as I do eh?

a.k.a. "the rapey, patriarchal, toxic triad".;)

People not in their States can't vote for them. Why make a video together, and name it "Women Rising"?

Because it brands the Democrat party "the party of women", as opposed to the "old rapey white man" Republican party;)

eta: And Bruce. Don't forget Bruce. Nice subliminal positive reinforcement there.

Hey you found one, good for you!

Maybe I'm wrong and the real reason they're so few conservative women in politics is that they know their place is in the kitchen? Or maybe their husbands won't let them out?

So, you don't know the number but "its not near enough". So basically what you said in your other post is nothing more than partisan spin. Now...Here's something you should look at. I went through and listed all the women in the Senate along with their party affiliation and whether their State was red, blue, or purple.

Republican Senators that are women:

Shelley Capito: West Virginia: Red State
Deb Fischer: Nebraska: Red State
Cindy Hyde-Smith: Mississippi: Red State
Susan Collins: Maine: Purple State
Joni Ernst: Iowa: Red State
Lisa Murkowski: Alaska: Red State

Democrat Senators that are women:

Dianne Feinstein: California: Blue State
Kamala Harris: California: Blue State
Mazie Hirono: Hawaii: Blue State
Tammy Duckworth: Illinois: Blue State
Elizabeth Warren: Massachusetts: Blue State
Debbie Stabenow: Michigan: Red State
Amy Klobuchar: Minnesota: Blue State
Claire McCaskill: Missouri: Red State
Jeanne Shaheen: New Hampshire: Blue State
Maggie Hassan: New Hampshire: Blue State
Kirsten Gillibran: New York: Blue State
Heidi Heitkamp: North Dakota: Red State
Patty Murray: Washington: Blue State
Maria Cantwell: Washington: Blue State
Tammy Baldwin: Wisconsin: Red State

Total of Red States: 8
Total of Blue States: 8 (3 States have both senators as women, all 3 of those states are solid blue states and have been for some time)
Total of Purple States: 1

Seems to me that what you said about conservatives not voting for women is wrong. In fact, with the exception of Susan Collins from Maine every Republican Senator that is a woman was voted in by solid Republican States that have been Red for quite some time. While the Democrat Senators that are women include states that are solid blue, purple or red. Missouri for instance has voted for Republican Presidents 8 times out of the last 10 Elections. And then there's North Dakota. Over the last 10 Presidential elections has been Republican.

Yes, this could most undoubtedly be broken down further and further. In the end though I don't think its going to support you any more than this has.

The only thing good about is the Springsteen song - and thats not one of his better songs.

Its just more of the same identity politics. Vote for someone because of their gender, race or whatever. Total nonsense.

Well I'm open to reasons other than mine as to why there's double the number of Democratic women in the Senate and three times the number of Democratic women in the House. Too busy with the kids maybe?

There's also no senior women administration officials in Trump's WH. But we all know the reason for that don't we...

The silly notion the GOP has disdain for women is a left wing trope, and has no actual place in reality.

Any number of reasons. Personal choice being the biggest and most likely reason.

Well you can always fall back on the strange coincidence explanation of why there's so few women leaders in Republican circles, verses the Dems.

But if you really believe that, you must believe Trump's claim that he's, "a very stable genius"...

Strange coincidence? There is none. Women are not a homogeneous group. You're trying to package them into one. Don't.

I'll remember that when I'm called any of those. ;)

So... because people call you a bigot, it's okay to pretend others are bigots? How does that make sense.

That's so stupid, you can't be serious. Women are a disadvantaged minority. All of them. No exceptions. How about you deal with that reality and stop playing the victim.

Don't need to pretend that at all.

What does them being a minority have anything to do with them not being a homogeneous group and making their own choices? I'm standing here sticking up for their choices and I'm the one playing the victim? Get outta here with that crap Eco. You can't force women to be politicians or anything else Eco.

The identity politics and the intersectional politics that the Democrats are foisting on the electorate isn't productive or conducive to good policy, and I'm tired of their crap.

Assuming or believing that good public policy is going to magically appear (along with with rainbow unicorns) just because politicians who aren't old, white and male have been elected is simply sheer stupidity and ignorance and foolhardy to the extreme.

There is good public policy, and there is bad public policy, and both can come from most any politician, regardless of whether they are old, white and male, or not.

Well, that's easy. They are all Republican. Their are no pink ***** hat wearers in that group.
Well I can't say that I am fully going to back any of them, that is until I discover what their policies are going to be, or what they plan to do. I'm going to have to look into the people sponsoring the video seeing as I don't readily know who was directly involved.

If only you applied the same critical analysis to the Rense blogs you push.

I do, which is ever more present every time I see you continue to whine about losing against that same blog.

Or are you going to run crying to the basement about it again?

Which is no guarantee. Seeing as we have seen some Republicans this year that appear to be bating for the left more than they should feasibly be doing.

Though I will hold out hope no matter what.

You realize that supporting Rense, and claiming his work is a "win", basically declares oneself a Nazi? I don't get how you can support Holocaust denial. That you support Rense and denial and then get all "we gotta look at this carefully" when politically convenient is laughable. Clownery.

I'm not supporting holocaust denial, yet you are getting so hung up one aspect of the man, that you are letting the rest of the blog defeat you.

I suggest you go back to the original topic of the post and read it, so you can realize how you lost and continue to do so even now.

Enjoy pushing your nazi garbage, and don't forget to pretend you're discerning about sources.
