A Minnesota special education teacher has resigned after she posted a message on Twitter exhorting her followers to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The teacher, identified by multiple social media users and local outlets as Samantha Ness, had been placed on paid administrative leave after the message was widely shared online.

The tweet, which read: "So whose [sic] gonna take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?" was posted from the account @lookitsSamm on Saturday, hours after the Senate confirmed Kavanaugh, 50-48. This woman was a teacher who solicited for the murder of someone innocent of any crime. If she was an accountant, a cashier at a grocery store, or a fry cook at a local diner, then I'd be against her losing her job.... But this woman teaches children, and any person who solicits or advocates murdering a fellow human being should never be allowed to teach children of any age.

You have a point, though I point out that those who were sinners but seen the errors of their ways and reformed tend to make fabulous teachers and role models. We in America now trash people way too quickly because we are sadistic and because we have no moral problems trashing other people, in large part because we are often too ignorant to know what many of our ancestors knew, which is "There but for the grace of God go I".

I don't think the woman should necessarily have her life sent into total shambles over that comment, but when it comes to teaching children in school, I think her comments crossed a line.

Our children are far too important to take chances with.
