For the 1st time in my adult life I'm voting moderate Republican - Open letter to Democrats

Well there's his problem (the same problem as "life-long Republicans"). Anyone who blindly voted for candidates because they happened to be members of a particular political party are the main cause of the problem and blindly switching to another party is no kind of solution. His issue isn't the politics of division, only that (he thinks) the division is no longer along lines he agrees with.

I also think blindly voting for candidates of one party only because those candidates are of that party is a huge problem. Even with just two parties, the statistical averages show you would be voting for the best candidate half the time, the worst candidate the other half. Although as far as I was concerned, 2016 was an election between two worst candidates. I had to throw that in.

The division line has grown bigger, starker as one party has moved further left, the other right. When I grew up in the 1950's there wasn't a big difference between the two parties. Each had its liberal and conservative wings, That's not the case today, the division between the two parties is probably wider than the Grand Canyon. One party shed its liberal wing, the other its conservative and both parties have for the most part, shed their moderates.

Collins, Flake, Kasich, Graham, Paul, Romney, Ryan, and so many House reps I can't list them all.

Flake maybe in temperament but notably voting record. Ryan,Seriosly? Graham changed his tune to the Trumptard...

Plugging your ears only makes the sound go away for you...

The Nazis held a rally in DC a couple months ago and 25 Nazis showed up. Thats some movement.

This seems to prove my point on Ryan. What are you seeing that is moderate here?

Try thishttps://capitalandmain.com/how-is-paul-ryan-a-moderate

Fiscally he is very conservative, socially, not so much.
