One of the biggest concerns with having your borders open (even somewhat) over 200+ years, is the influx of people from around the world with different ideals. Why they want to leave their country to try instilling here has baffled me, but that's what happens?

As FDR or Teddy R said, when you come to America, it should be with the honest effort that you will assimilate to how America is, not come here to change America into the s**thole you came from (just quoting Trump there). After millions of immigrants and the sympathizers (or idealists) that leave here have populated the country enough (which may have happened by today), we now start changing the foundation for that made America the best place on earth for immigrants to come to and the most successful country, at least in modern history.
The Electoral College is actually a great defense for crap like that to happen. Again, only 5 times in US history has this ever been an "issue" because the popular vote lost.

You know Native Americans also immigrated from someplace else to what is now the USA. Besides the US already played "cowboys and Indians", the Indians lost.

Please post the immigration policy Native Americans had in place when the settlers moved in? oh wait, they didn't have one and the USA was still a dream. Context is import.

I don't think it's so baffling but you are looking it at from the angle that they are coming here to instill their ideas. They mostly come here because it's a way better quality of life they could never achieve from their home country. Even if they have to work a menial job at minimum wage, they are still getting a decent house with things like running hot and cold water, TV, microwaves, internet, etc.. basic standards they most likely did not have. Plus children are getting the opportunity to get a good education and have an even better life.

It's the American dream and everyone wants it. You can literally come from nothing and become a millionaire with hard work and determination. There's not that many countries that give their people that kind of opportunity.

The system has been gamed through gerrymandering.

OK, and now it's just another case of "cowboys and indians," and once again the settled host is losing. So what's the problem?

No defined borders at some point in history, no immigration laws
Defined borders today, immigration laws.

That "better quality of life" that they seek is here because of the buy-in of all the previous immigrants to the American ideal. Assimilate, work hard, take care of yourself, love the freedom that is here. This wave demands that we start using their language, their religion, their mores'. Sorry but that not what needs to be happening, or we will become just like the ****hole they left.

Why they want to come here?
1. Whites are paying their welfare and have the nicest countries
2. They are coming for the money. not because they love our culture
3. Diversity is not a strength.. it divides

That's what revolutions are for. our freedom was not given to us. It was fought for and earned by our founding fathers.

We have no obligation to share it with the rest of the world. What we do share is out of generosity. The rest of the world in not entitled to come here. We have the right and a responsibility to limit it to manageable porportions. To suggest otherwise is Immoral and unethical.

I don't know about you but I have way more American Christians demanding I use their religion and I have no idea what a "more" is? I also frequent many places where immigrants run businesses and never once anyone demanded I use their language.

I know a lot of immigrants and they all seem to assimilate just fine so I really have no issues on that.

I never said we didn't have to limit it to manageable proportions. I am just trying to give an idea why I think some people come here because the OP was baffled why people leave their own countries to come here.

"Whites" are not paying their welfare.

You may not live in America so you probably don't understand that we all different races of people that pay taxes not just white people. I know it's hard for you to believe but yes, they do.

I wasn't arguing with you as much as I was expanding on your post.

The system has been gamed through gerrymandering.

By definition, gerrymandering is straight up false. Not only were the borders set as states were added with only minor changes, the EC hasn't changed the way they've done business since the get go, so no, it's not like gerrymandering at all.

Yet complain about it all the time? And demand the government and evil rich do more to help lazy leeches?

America isn’t Oprah. People need to work for it and while your sentiment here at one time was accurate, people have started changing the idea of earning the American dream to just giving it away.
Unfortunately, that can’t be sustained and the reality is, not everyone can have it. That includes US citizens who have taken everything for granted and no longer want to work for their piece of the pie and more or less feel entitled to it.

For me, the american dream is the opportunity to start at the bottom of the ladder, work hard, and be succesful enough that you can sustain a family and a few hobbies.

But you can't start at the bottom of the ladder if the first rung is 10 feet in the air.
