You do understand that Fred died in 1999, and Mary 2000.....right? THis is an attempt to get dirt on Trump that is unloaded now because the effort was always about trying to weaken the Rebellion at election time, it was never about truth or fairness or anything else good. And it is weak sauce.

There are aggressive but probably legal ways to get the value of an estate down by half or so, but it looks like whoever did the audits of the Trump returns was incompetent or deliberately didn't look very hard. What is described in the article is straight up tax fraud at many different steps in the process, and fraud on the part of the appraiser. He's the one who actually made the fraud possible, and is as big a crook as the rest of the Trump family who obviously knew the values assigned were completely and laughably bogus.

The funny part of the article is how it just completely makes laughable all Trump's claims of being anything like self made. Seems pretty obvious without daddy's money at nearly every step he'd have gone the way of lots of incompetent real estate developers and gone completely bust. Of course since daddy died, he's become toxic to lenders except for money laundering Russians, and doesn't even bother to try to develop much anymore. He leases his name, gets paid handsomely for that, and more competent people do the actual construction and management. So what he's a genius at is self promotion, and that's about it.

Yes, part of what he was hiding. Does anyone think that Donald Trump stopped the fraudulent practices? Why not assume that many of the same criminal behaviors are still going on? So, yes, looking at his previous crimes would be helpful in knowing where to look for more recent criminal behavior.

Don't forget the money laundering. He made a pretty penny off that too. If it is illegal Trump is all over it. I'm beginning to think the only honest money he ever made was for "The Apprentice."
