What are they afraid of?

And how do they think they're helping remove the doubt about Kavanaugh's fitness?

While the FBI will examine the allegations of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, the bureau has not been permitted to investigate the claims of Julie Swetnick, who has accused Kavanaugh of engaging in sexual misconduct at parties while he was a student at Georgetown Preparatory School in the 1980s, those people familiar with the investigation told NBC News. A White House official confirmed that Swetnick's claims will not be pursued as part of the reopened background investigation into Kavanaugh.

.... as of now, the FBI cannot ask the supermarket that employed Judge for records verifying when he was employed there, one of the sources was told. Ford said in congressional testimony Thursday that those records would help her narrow the time frame of the alleged incident which she recalls happening some time in the summer of 1982 in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Two sources familiar with the investigation said the FBI will also not be able to examine why Kavanaugh’s account of his drinking at Yale University differs from those of some former classmates, who have said he was known as a heavy drinker.

If the FBI learns of others who can corroborate what the existing witnesses are saying, it is not clear whether agents will be able to contact them under the terms laid out by the White House, the two sources briefed on the matter said.

Our society has failed when we cannot protect women from being raped and children from being raped. Worst yet, our society refuses to do right by rape victims and prosecuting the criminals.

SHAME ON Diane Feinstein for waiting until September to release Dr. Ford's letter. That is an absolute disgrace. She should resign immediately.

SHAME ON this administration for limiting the scope of the investigation. If Brett Kavanaugh is innocent, what are they exactly afraid of? If people claim to vouch for Kavanaugh's innocence this much, they shouldn't have to worry. Maybe, just maybe they are worried he could be guilty. I wouldn't bet my life savings on Brett Kavanaugh's word.

Both Democrats, Republicans, Democratic lawyers/operatives should be ashamed of themselves. Dr. Ford needed a fair and honest hearing/investigation. She will not get that due to the hyper-partisan actions of many shameful actors. Democrats claiming they stand by Ford? How can they honestly speak when they are giving preferntial treatment towards Keith Ellison? Her lawyers are not acting in her best interest but the interest of the Democratic party.

This entire dog and pony show was entirely unnecessary!!! This should have been done in private in August. What the hell is a matter with these people?

This is not a political issue. There should be no sides. The only side should be the truth.

Lastly, I do believe that majority of Senators, Republicans, and Democrats feel sorry for Dr. Ford. Part of the reason why is because she is one of them: affluent, well-spoken, educated white women that went to country clubs.

If this woman isn't getting a fair shake you can forget about poor minorities getting a fair shake. Honestly, these women need to carry knives and guns with them at all time and if they are provoked, they should kill any aggressors. At least then they will receive some sort of justice, they certainly will not get that from DC.

No, it was to look into all current credible allegations.

Not only has one current allegation been declared off-limits, the FBI has been told they can't follow all the leads in the ones they are permitted to look into.

No, it is to look into the allegations DR. FORD made... DR. FORD requested an investigation into HER ALLEGATION.

Where did you get the idea it was going to be a fishing trip?

Ramirez's lawyer has refused 7 times to hand over some credible info to Grassley, told him he could get the info from the media.

Swetnick's lawyer has refused 3 or 4 times to hand over some credible info to Grassley, told him he wants an FBI investigation first.

Boat rape and back-of car rape have already been debunked and one of these accusers has been "recommended" to law enforcement for criminal investigation. (grin)


If the lawyers don't provide information and supportive documents to the senate committee, then there is no need to take those allegations serious.
 
As long as the FBI is able to flesh out Kavanaugh's laughably feeble comments about high school drinking which plays directly into the Ford accusations then it should at least be a reasonable review of the Ford allegation. Kavanaugh lied through his teeth and tried desperately to avoid the whole issue of high school drunkenness. That should also then lead them to college drunkenness and most of Kavanaugh's testimony falls apart that very moment those two things are explored to any reasonable degree. Once that falls apart, any argument that Kavanaugh makes that he always knew where he was and what he was doing also falls apart and his whole I didn't do it argument falls apart on the grounds that he often would not have known where he was or what he was doing.

This is the statement released by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday afternoon:

The Senate Judiciary Committee will request that the administration instruct the FBI to conduct a supplemental FBI background investigation with respect to the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court.

The supplemental FBI background investigation would be limited to current credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today.

It appears they're being allowed to do a partial investigation there.

They've been given a limited set of people they're allowed to interview, and they've been told some avenues in connection with the Ford and Ramirez allegations are off limits.

Because of the limitations put into place, there is doubt as to whether they will be allowed to pursue leads if other witnesses are found.


Trump publicly said the FBI has free rein, but that does not appear to be consistent with the official orders the FBI was given.

I have a problem if the don't fully investigate Kavenaugh's laughable contentions about his and Judge's high school drinking as that element fully plays into Kavanaugh's credibility all the way down the line.

Even with the two allegations they are allowed to investigate, they have been given strict limitations for who they are allowed to talk to.

The White House tied their hands.

He lied through his teeth....and frankly I don't know how much he might be drinking now and neither do you. We certainly can't trust anything he says about his drinking because he has already lied through his teeth about it.
