California professor Christine Blasey Ford has agreed to testify on Thursday morning before a U.S. Senate panel about her sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, her lawyers said on Sunday.

=====================================
Hearing at 10AM according to breaking news Alex Witt MSNBC.

I heard chatter yesterday on twitter that there are others. I wonder if that is true. I wonder if that's why she stalled - to get others. The culture that seemed to be fostered there would certainly indicate that she was not a one/off. This will be an interesting week, if that is the case.

More to come, possibly. I don't wish her ill but this guy Kavanaugh is being rammed through to protect Trump. That alone should disqualify him.

I'm not a hundred percent clear on why Thursday is such a magic day, but okay. In any case, several Republican Senators have pretty flagrantly made it clear that they don't care what she has to say. They're voting to confirm Kavanaugh and that's that.

That said...if they had the votes they would have confirmed him already. The fact that they haven't confirmed him means they don't have the votes...yet (*cough*Collins*cough*). I have little doubt that it wouldn't take terribly much to tilt the balance back toward successful confirmation. The wild card here is Kavanaugh himself, who is said to have held up under mock interrogation very, very poorly.

The real importance of this hearing is to show how useless, cowardly & unworthy these elderly senators & their minions really are & to show America what they do to women who have been victimized. The prize won't be Kavanaugh but the impact on female Republican voters who will be revolted by their chosen political party. November is the key here, not Kavanaugh.

If you believe anything you hear on Twitter, you are bound to be disappointed 98% of the time.

So if this hearing doesn't bring up any evidence of what happened do you think we should just believe the women and subject Kavanaugh to what is essentially a guilty verdict with no evidence? Is that what you want America to turn into?

I've also heard that. That when questioned about sex and drinking, he stumbled a lot.

He did a bit more than stumble. He refused to answer the questions outright.

I am able to discern between Twitter news accounts, Twitter personal accounts and Twitter parody accounts.

I am rarely disappointed, as about 98% of the time, news is broken on Twitter before anything else.

Oh. Had not heard that.

Just as he did several weeks ago to prepare for his confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court, Brett M. Kavanaugh was back inside a room at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building — again facing questioners readying him for a high-stakes appearance in the Senate.

This time, the questions were much different. An array of White House aides, playing the role of various senators on the Judiciary Committee, quizzed Kavanaugh last week about his sex life and other personal matters in an attempt to prepare him for a hearing that would inevitably be uncomfortable.

But Kavanaugh grew frustrated when it came to questions that dug into his private life, particularly his drinking habits and his sexual proclivities, according to three people familiar with the preparations, who requested anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. He declined to answer some questions altogether, saying they were too personal, these people said.

“I’m not going to answer that,” Kavanaugh said at one point according to a senior White House official, who said that the questions were designed to go over the line and that he struck the right tone.

FYI, I can't discern between parody accounts of Trump and the actual Trump account often.

Seriously.

Not sure anybody is saying that. All we are asking for is for her to be heard, and for this matter to be investigated.

Not sure why that is such a problem. If he is as innocent as he says he is, then this should be easy peasy.

People usually don't want to be investigated if they have anything to hide.

Nobody is saying to not confirm him based on what she is saying.

All people are saying is let her be heard. Let this follow the true course of just such an allegation. This guy is up for the highest court in the land, for a permanent appointment. A little scrutiny into his background is not out of the question.

Actually a lot of people are saying that he should not be confirmed now simply because of this. I would say that you don't really follow what is happening very well.

Ooh, sick burn. I'm following it quite well, thank you very much.

As it is, they are probably now going to have to use this extra time to get in some crowd control, what with all the accusers coming forward.
