Double Standards by Left on Kavanaugh Allegations

They didn't impeach him for the blow job, but for lying about it.
But the original point still stands ...

And in the case of Kavanaugh, he will be rejected for lying about his little escapade.

BJ Clinton commited perjury and lied to the American people about it when confronted, which he should not have done.

Nextly, the words you posted say that you believe that Kavanaugh attempted to rape someone - can you substantiate your belief with proof?

If you were going to tell a high-stakes lie because you wanted to take somebody out, for whatever reason, would you beg the FBI to look into it?
Knowing the FBI would never investigate such a vague and unsubstantiated claim that is out of their jurisdiction - yep!
Did you write the above remark out of deuced obtuseness, willful ignorance, or as a result of a predilection for indolence?

  1. FBI is the abbreviation for "Federal Bureau of Investigation," not for "Federal Bureau of Criminal Investigation Only." Some investigations the FBI performs are for the purpose of determining whether to levy criminal or civil charges. Everyone is familiar with this type of investigation. Others are for the purpose of obtaining information with no prosecutorial end, but rather to determine one's fitness for a given role. Such investigations are what background checks are and they are most certainly within the FBI's scope of operations.
  2. There is at least one more federal background investigator, the NBIB. I don't know how that organization's ambit overlaps and doesn't the FBI's as go background investigations.
  3. AFAIK, nobody is asking that Brett be criminally prosecuted. From what I can tell, Dr. Ford has merely stepped forward to share information about the nature of her interaction with Brett and that her involvement be taken into consideration in evaluating the nature of Brett's character and mindset regarding women and women's rights. Maybe Brett has, about women in the abstract, the same glibly disrespectful mindset he did when he was at Prep and Yale, and maybe he doesn't.
  4. The point of my post to which you replied isn't that or whether the FBI conducts the investigation. It's that nobody, least of all a timorous person who demurred from reporting an assault upon their person and subsequently lived a comfortable life outside the national stage, would proffer a false claim and foist themselves into the fractured fray of a SCOTUS nomination.
