O'Keefe threatens to expose the "Deep State"

Best line I ever heard:

"Get a conservative angry show him a lie, get a Liberal angry show him the truth"

But O'Keefe doesn't show you the truth. He literally splices audio and cuts context to sell a lie. And conservatives buy it, over and over. Liberals aren't being angered by the truth, they're being angered by a liar. Much like they're angered by the compulsive liar you people elected.

Yeah, posting full raw videos that show what they put out is legit, total fraud and bull****! Exposing lies, fraud and abuse isn't the job of some "guy with a camera" that's for real journalist, like Media Matters!

But he didn't. He edited videos. Spliced audio. Cut context. To sell you a lie.

Sad. I thought you were smarter than that. I guess I gave you too much credit.

Thread title: 'O'Keefe threatens to expose the "Deep State" ' Threatens who? A threat implies that there are demands that need to be met in order for the threat not be carried out. What does O'Keefe want?

As far as I can tell, the 'deep state' is the civil servants and federal experts in their field (i.e. career diplomats, anti-pollution enforcement agents, HUD investigators) who diligently perform their jobs regardless of which party is in power. We can see why conservatives have a boner for this 'deep state.' Conservatives are corporatists and experts enforcing laws for the benefit of ordinary Americans is contrary to their power. Moreover, the Trump Admin is comprised mostly of neophytes. Career experts make them look like the fools that they are.

Well, he wanted to do a biopic of Trump, but was having trouble finding actors to portray the virgin birth.

And yet...people seem to lose their jobs because of his videos.

Pretty good for a hack, eh?

At least to employers. Doesn't mean they are the truth or accurate. People and far too many have lost their jobs over one tweet.

Not Trump though.

You still mad about Trump, sweetie???

I wonder how many times O'Keefe has to deceptively edit his videos before conservatives catch on.

They wish to choose to not catch on when O'Keefe says what they want to hear.

Yes, your lot is so smart, arent you?!

Smart enough to not fall for this conman's productions, r Pizzagate, or Obama FEMA camps, and on and on.

Rocket, If O'Keefe doesn't release the raw video or the raw doesn't show what's claimed I call them out for it. But they generally tend to do that and most of the time I love Project Veritas videos because they have caught a number of bad actors. Not everything they do I agree with, but I do like them.

Newsweek and Media Matters? HOLY HELLS using those as debunking sources is...

IRONY METER BROKEN.

Oh god, you can't make this stuff up!

The guy who regularly makes deceitful videos, at least one of which got an innocent person fired is good. The guy is a total scumbucket, he almost makes Trump look good. Almost.

James O'Keefe agrees to pay $100,000 settlement to fired Acorn employee

O'Keefe has been sued before. He was named in an earlier $20,000 settlement paid to a Project Veritas employee who claimed wrongful termination.

The employee, Isabel Santa, was credited by then-CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau with warning her that O'Keefe was plotting to lure Boudreau onto a boat and make sexual advances as a way of humiliating her.

Another former Project Veritas employee said she had to threaten to call police to get O'Keefe to allow her to leave what she described as a barn in a remote location where he had brought her. After she published the account of her fight with O'Keefe the woman, Nadia Naffe, became the target of internet attacks.

O'Keefe was convicted of a misdemeanor and fined $1,500 in May 2010 after he dressed as a telephone repairman to get inside a local office of Louisiana senator Mary Landrieu. The guise did not work and he pleaded guilty to entering federal property under false pretenses.

You'll have to show me where Newsweek intentionally created deceitful articles or videos that have gotten innocent people fired.

Getting people fired by creating a deceitful video is a good thing because you don't like their ideology. That's sick.

The video hasn't gotten anyone fired. Their own words have gotten them fired. The video just made them public.

What O'Keefe's video didn't show was that Vera contacted police after the meeting.

The settlement, first reported by Wonkette, states that "Mr O'Keefe regrets any pain suffered by Mr Vera or his family." It notes that the payment is "in no way representative of any actual or implied admissions of liability".

The statement of regret seemed to be undercut by a statement posted Friday on O'Keefe's website, Project Veritas, in which he calls the lawsuit "meritless".

The guy creates an intentionally deceitful video that seriously affects someone's life, makes a public apology, and then walks it back on his website. What a sleazy flimflam man. Obviously he takes after Trump.

Maybe O'Keefe is going for the part of Trump's Mini-me?

Not sure on that, but it does seem Democrats have higher standard in some regards. Certainly on ethics (ala Trump).

You can read about James here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_O'Keefe

If you're relying on his work to inform you with regards to "mainstream media" (where this post is), I'd say you are probably enjoying yourself first, and "learning from a credible source", is not really your goal. Political operatives are generally going to be 100% partisan not just in their stated claims, but they are typically financially motivated to be partisan. What possible worse source for credible, objective information is there?

You are listening to Media Matters and Newsweek to tell you what is true and false? Wanna buy a bridge?

They are still far better sources than O'Keefe, and in this case correct.

It's as if O'Keefe is auditioning to be Trump's Mini-me.
