Dianne feinstein withholding brett kavanaugh document from fellow judiciary committee democrats

I suspect it is just the next act in the whole theatrical spectacle of Kavanaugh's confirmation.

Out of curiosity, did you vote for Trump?

I think it's the last act ... because today I heard the skinny fat lady singing.

The FBI is investigating it, which means it's going to become drama.

Yep; and now that the FBI has this letter, it won't be long before the NYT will print it for all of us to see. (grin)

This smells like the intention is "We should postpone the confirmation vote until we've thoroughly examined this very serious charge."

After what the GOP pulled with Garland, the Dems would be stupid not to do that.

The GOP has repeatedly shown that if the Dems fall on their swords in the name of fair play, the GOP just screws them when they can. (And now, the very same people who pretended to make a big principled stand about trying to load courts with people who will vote particular ways are supporting the GOP doing the exact same thing. Worse, they claim it isn't the exact same things, it's because their judges interpret the constitution the right way.)

It's likely not to be. The FBI has announced that they are not as yet opening a criminal investigation.

Nope, and they don't intend to.

Considering that Feinstein had this letter since July, makes one wonder why no one brought it up before ...

That's not quite the same thing as saying they don't intend to, but I do agree with the interpretation.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see anything in the statement to suggest that she had the letter since July.

It's interesting, however, to see the White House suddenly hold the FBI in such high esteem.

No, I don't "know" that, and neither do you.

So in your opinion, Roadvirus's definition of waging "political war" is doing something Republicans have done.

Yes, of course. This is about getting even

Aaaaand you would consider it a bad mark on Democrats to do what Republicans did?

What do you wanna bet the California representative did not sit on that letter for 6 weeks ... (grin)

"... The statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California came a week before the Judiciary Committee is to vote on his nomination. “I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court,” Ms. Feinstein said in a statement. “That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”

The information came in late July in a letter, which was first sent to the office of Representative Anna Eshoo, Democrat of California, ..."

Like i said in another thread: This has the stench of a bloated beached Blue Whale.

Actually, they tried the racist thing with that lady who supposedly flashed a "White Power hand sign". That went nowhere, so now it's a 30 year old accusation.

This latest dirty stunt is going to actually make me nostalgic for that.

I follow a number of journalists for outlets such as the Washington Post, the Guardian and the New York Times, and they universally condemned the "white power hand sign" theory.

Just sayin'.

Looks like this spinning top by the democrats has spun itself out within a few hours ... :lamo

Bloody ****ing delay tactics. The Democrats really want a political war, don't they?

If this is the kind of utter bull**** they're pulling with Kavanaugh, i can only imagine the lengths they'll go if RBG dies before 2020.

Oh man that is going to be some wicked battle. I mean that would be some wicked battle.
