Trump's claim of success in Puerto Rico hurricane response derided

Not sure what the BBC is achieving with this. The people who support Donald Trump want to see Puerto Ricans die, and think not enough people got killed by that debacle, but they lack the balls to openly say that (especially on a forum), so they will read this article and spout flagrant lies like "but Puerto Rico is too far away" or "muh corrupt PR government" or hypocritical talking points like "but muh tax dollars" (which they wouldn't be saying if white Republican Florida properties or Trump's Mar a Lago got smashed by a monster hurricane/storm surge.) They're not interested in this news at all, and never will be.

The rest of us actual human beings already know Trump is full of ****. For us this article is just redundant.

So who is BBC even talking to? There isn't anyone left out there who are open to be convinced one way or another.

The people who support Donald Trump want to see Puerto Ricans die, and think not enough people got killed by that debacle...

Seriously? You're sick if you really believe that.

or "muh corrupt PR government"...
Which is the truth. The utilities infrastucture was rife with it before the hurricane and it was also antiquated. Not to mention the FBI has numerous times arrested many PR gov't officials for various corruption charges in the past. And then there are the rumors of hoarded supplies after the hurricane.

Images posted yesterday of water bottles still sitting at air strip in Puerto Rico ... from last year's hurricane.

"... A CBS News journalist reported that he was told by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday that the bottles were brought by FEMA to the island in 2017 after it was battered by the hurricane, but were then turned over to the Puerto Rican government.

"The question is what happened after that. Where was the breakdown?" ..."

"... SAN JUAN, P.R. — At least 10 trailers full of food, water and baby supplies donated for victims of Hurricane Maria were left to rot at a state elections office in Puerto Rico, where they broke open and became infested by rats.

Radio Isla, a local radio station, posted a video Friday showing cases of beans, water, Tylenol and other goods covered in rat and lizard droppings.

The Puerto Rico elections commission offices had been used as a collection center for goods donated from around the country for victims of the devastating hurricane that struck the island last year. ..."

These are only a couple of reports that actually made it into the MSM, which means that there are countless other incidents where the corrupt PR government screwed its own people.

The electricity grid was more or less shot before the hurricane hit. My daughter-in-law's relatives, except for her mother and her siblings, still live in PR.
For the most part, PR is a government-corrupted ***hole place.

But...but...but Trump and stuff. :(

The only way to save these Americans, is to make it the 51st state. In less than 40 years after statehood, it will become the next Hawaii.

Much like the economy, Presidents generally get too much blame for disaster responses and well, you don't really get credit when things go "Right" as people still generally lose a lot, so there's no winning.

There's very little Presidents can do, they can put the right people in the right places, they can authorize the necessary assets to assist, do what they can with funding, do the mandatory visits so it looks like they care and hope for the best, that's pretty much it.

There's a lot of back and forth blame about Puerto Rico...

For Trump though, one thing I will say, is he doesn't help himself with stupid and disgusting statements like these:

He didn't say it on the continental United States, only to them, that was ****ing scummy, whether he deserves blame or not, he certainly didn't help his cause with a statement like that.

Who the **** goes on to say, "Not as bad as Katrina" either? What a colossal imbecile.

It’s depressing that a news organisation simply reporting news without any political bias or ulterior motive has become a confusing oddity.
