Who are the moderates? How can you have a moderate xenophobia or a middling tolerance for rapists and NAZIs and traitors? Jimmy Carter is wrong that there is anywhere for real moderates to reside between the parties right now. One is nucking futs and the other is weak and disorganized. The only way to find middle ground there is to be an aimless whackadoodle.

I think what people mean by "moderate" in today's climate is someone who doesn't mind having a half wit sexual predator in the white house as long as they don't have to pay a lot for it in taxes.

Polling was not off for the 2016 election. Polls predicted she would win by a couple points.. and she did. Electoral college is a different thing.

100% of the POLLS said she would win and win big.
Biased polling gives you BIASED (and inaccurate) results.

I once had to explain to someone here there was no STARVATION problem in America.
He kept parroting back....but the POLLS say there is.
I asked him if he is going to believe his own eyes or POLLS.
He said POLLS.

There ya go.
If a POLL says it, then it must be right as they are NEVER wrong.

Why think when a POLL can do it for you.

I don't mean YOU as an individual. You have proven to me to have a very good analytical mind.
I just think it silly how some take what a POLL says as gospel truth.
it isn't.

Yet this thread started off with " a POLL says....".

If you look at polling on single-payer, the latest one that has it above majority support with even Republican voters, is the continuation of a trend.

Ya know, this is almost like deja vu.

I remember several years back, after the tea party took hold, people were saying the GOP needs to appeal to moderates more if they expected to compete. Others would then chime in, "Wrong! The GOP needs to go further right!" That happened right here at DP. Many times.

Well, flash forward. The GOP DID go further right placating to their more rabid base and it seemed to have worked out okay for them.

Maybe the dems are just following the GOP playbook?
