These are strange times we live in and Americans are witnessing a phenomenon that starkly brings home the reality that there is vast difference between a classless society and a society with no class. The antics of Colin Kaepernick and Serena Williams notwithstanding, Americans know that it is almost unheard of for a former president to comment on or criticize a sitting president especially in the first term when the new administration is just getting underway.

The smooth transition of power has always been seen as necessary to ensure the stability of the nation after the voters have spoken. But Donald Trump’s election was such an unanticipated repudiation of elitist politics as usual that Barack Obama has broken with tradition and is accusing Trump of being a symptom of resentment and a threat to our way of life.

Trump is a threat but he is a threat to crooked career politicians on both sides of the aisle in US Congress. Consider Obama’s signature accomplishment, The Affordable Care Act. It was a disaster that would have destroyed health insurance in America and ushered Americans into a third world healthcare system.

The first thing Congress did was to go into back rooms with lawyers and craft a technicality to allow them to impose the ACA onto the people but escape the calamity themselves. They removed themselves from their own healthcare package and subjected themselves to the ACA in 2010 but only on paper. When the phase-in actually occurred in 2014 Suddenly Congress was a “small business” qualifying it for generous subsidies that average people can never get.

In the entire history of America Congress has never been thought of as a small business but it is now so crooked career politicians can foist catastrophic legislation onto the people while they protect themselves from the ruinous effects. By the way, how many republicans objected to the small business scam? If you get a number bigger than zero get another accountant.

Obama is out there casting aspersions on Trump because Trump exposes a rotten status quo which is why he was elected in the first place. It’s also why all these seditious investigations are going on. The corrupted status quo has to overthrow the election because it could be investigated itself by a “real” investigation.

They are hanging together because if Trump survives they are going to hang separately

What bothers me the most is how these hypocrites, mostly motivated by their own loss of power, completely rebuke the will of the people; the electoral college that put Trump in the WH.

Ironically, Obama hasn't figured out that the double-downed arrogance we are still seeing from him once again while he is on the campaign trail is what the voter rejected back in '16. Democrats lost over 1,000 seats across the country during Obama' reign, and he still doesn't get that Democrats were pushed out of power not in spite of him, but because of him.

You have zero idea what you're talking about.

TR called Taft a "fathead" and attacked Wilson.
Hoover savaged FDR.
Ike critiqued JFK's domestic policies.
GHW Bush took issue with Clinton on foreign policy.
Carter called GW Bush the "worst president ever".

Don't bring my girl Serena into a discussion about antics in 'strange times' when you know white male tennis players have acted much worse for decades.

Democrats are trying to win the election? How dare they?

The Trump administration heralded the end of political tradition as we knew it, and the past President speaking out against the sitting one is really the least of it.

He was idolized for it. White males get "bad boy", "renegade", "rogue".

The OP needed a third black person and she was in the news a little lately.

"Kaep hates America, the flag, soldiers, white people, cops and babies!
Obama is a Kenyan Muslim trying to destroy the Western world!
Serena..."

"Hold up. People ain't gonna have that."

We're drawing the line at Serena. We can only take so much racist BS.

Just more proof we are constantly lowering the bar of what we consider acceptable and how we justify actions.

When a book and an op-ed of a senior White House official both confirm that the White House is so chaotic that it requires his own administration to thwart his ignorant, anti-Democratic and amoral tendencies, I'd say things have devolved enough that the former President can publicly say that things aren't right.

Politicizing the DOJ, siding with White Supremacists and dictators, bragging about committing sexual assault, daily violations of the Emoluments Clause, colluding with the Russian government, lying nearly 5000 times, and constant attempts to create rifts between us and our allies were all fine. But if the past President finally criticizes him nearly two years later, well, that's just a bridge too far.

I have never seen any tennis player period act they way she did.

No worries. When democrats need obama the most he will be vacationing in the Maldives.

Obama is in the business for himself only.

While I was no fan of the old status quo, this new status quoted depresses me even more.

Then it's obvious you don't watch much professional tennis and can't really form an educated opinion that you've never seen any tennis player act like that.

LOL! The sheer irony of you labeling her a 'liar' is almost enough to pull the moon out of it's normal orbit.

^^^ This. The Know-Nothings so easily overlook that Serena acknowledged Naomi’s great play, told the crowd to stop booing, and tried to give the winner the moment she deserved.

"Cheater, liar, out for themselves and showy" are the terms of the thread, of course. Didn't you see the OP? Three black people. It's greasy little orc bait.

Watch... "no one said showy!"

A genuine question. What do you mean by this? I haven't seen Trump even remotely make some kind of a push to go after crooked politicians or anything like that. I've seen Trump attack people for only 1 of 2 reasons. It's politically convenient or because the person doesn't fully support him enough. The evidence to me seems as obvious as could be. The number of people that he fully supported with huge scandals is very high. The thing they all have in common is that they supported him. It seems to me that if you fully support him you can:

1. Misuse tax payers money for first class flights, private chartered jets, unnecessary military flights, drastically overspending on office updates, circumventing the official process and handing workers unapproved raises over the max limit (Scott Pruitt)
2. Spending 31K of taxpayer money on a new dining table for your office (Ben Carson)
3. You can molest underage girls (Roy Moore)
4. You can body slam reporters (Greg Gianforte)
5. You can starve and torture your citizens and still receive an inordinate amount of glowing praise (Kim Jung Un)
6. You can be charged with securities fraud, wire fraud, making false statements, using campaign funds for personal use, falsifying records, campaign finance violations and conspiracy and he will actually attack his own DOJ for daring to go after you for these crimes (Duncan Hunter & Chris Collins)
7. Advertising and promoting your family's shipping business in your government funded DOT office in front of the DOT flag (Elaine Chao)

Mind you, these are all things that I knew off the top of my head. I can't imagine the list I could come up with after 20 minutes of searching google.

So I ask you sincerely. What evidence do you have that people are actually scared because Trump is sniffing out corruption?

You mention the fact that Congress called themselves a small business in order to receive "generous subsidies". This simply isn't true. But we need to discuss the purpose of ObamaCare in the first place. The exchanges weren't meant for big companies. They were meant for individuals who don't get insurance through their employer. That's why I'm not allowed on ObamaCare. Even if I wanted to sign up, my employer offers health insurance, so I'm not allowed on the exchanges. For this reason, you're employer isn't allowed to give you money to help you pay for a plan on the exchange simply because they don't want to offer you health insurance. They also have an exchange for small business owners that allows them to subsidize their employees insurance and lets the small businesses pool together to hopefully get cheaper insurance and to have a market place where you are comparing apples to apples. If you were a small business, like 10 people, and you wanted to offer health insurance before, it was a headache to compare all of the different plans all the time and constantly be checking all the details. The exchange makes it easier and simpler. People started complaining saying that there were death panels etc and that if it's so great, congress should be on these plans. Congress called the bluff and said "ok we will put ourselves on the health exchanges". The problem is that congress and their staff and workers, like the majority of americans, get help to pay for their insurance through their employer. But the exchanges don't allow your employer to help you out. If you just ripped away all of the benefits that those people recieved them you'd have alot of staff leaving for other jobs that actually help with insurance etc, and essentially you'd be punishing them for no reason. So rather than rewrite all of the legislation for the individual marketplace, they wrote something that allows congress to help fund it's employees health insurance the same as any small business owner could. The only reason this was required is because the exchanges were not meant in any way for a big organization with hundreds or thousands of employees. So Congress wanted to be in the exchanges, to show people that the plans are not some evil death panel conspiracy theory, but not take away all the benefits that they agreed to give their employees. This isn't "corruption". Essentially nothing about the funding process of their health insurance changed. It just made it to where they have to pick their plans just as if they worked for a small business that was on the ObamaCare exchanges. They didn't give them extra money, they didn't give them extra privileges. The only thing that happened is that they forced themselves to pick from the exact same plans that anybody else on the program would have to pick from.

They were booing the 36 year old in a freakin tutu dress slaming her racket and berating an official.
