Which party is better for America, Democrats or Republicans?

Years ago, back in the 80s, I used to be a republican. I got tired of arguing with liberals, so one day I decided
to research the data, which, of course, would prove republicans are better for America than democrats. With the data,
I reasoned, I could just toss the hard facts in front of democrats and be done with the argument.

To my surprise, what I discovered was pretty much the hard stats favor democrats. I couldn't wrap my head around it, especially the stat that dems are better for stock gains, for surely, I thought, if any stat would be in the repubs
favor, it would be that one, but, alas, even that one is better by democrats.

This site has all the hard facts in one convenient place, for your future arguments against republicans who love their strawman arguments and fog machine debate tactics, but the stats speak for themselves. Of course, it's up and down, but the point is, who is better, on the whole, for America?

From what i can tell from these stats, it seems to me that Democrats are. I invite your comments.

Presidential Data 2016

stats are torturing numbers until they confess. Me, I use reality to judge what has been better. Jobs are back because of Trump not democrats. Does your stat show this?

The parties are as bad as each other and pretty much interchangeable (as you demonstrate).

There’s no reason to automatically attribute the various measures presented to the President in office, let alone the party the (nominally) stood for. What happens to an economy, a nation and its people depends on much more than the leader in office at the time and their efforts can be despite rather than because of political party considerations, be that their opponents or their own.

Political parties are generally negative in my opinion, though any alternative probably wouldn’t be better. Even if they have long term good intentions (and even that is questionable), they become self-serving monoliths which are only about obtaining and holding power for the sake of it. The underlying purpose of the positions of power become secondary at best, if not entirely forgotten.

Just look at your own thread. You’re not asking what is best for the country (you’re just assuming certain statistics are unequivocally “good” or “bad”), you’re just asking which party is “better”, which the unspoken presumption the party deemed “better” should always be in power. We have a word for that and it’s not Democratic or Republican.

Your questions asks which is better for America as if America is is one static thing but it's not. It's more like a collage. The answer to your question is that they are both worse and better for America depending on where and when your asking that question.

I'm speaking on the whole, the forest , not the trees. It's a given that America is not a static thing nor is any society anywhere nor was it ever and therefore I don't think that is an issue or changes the focus of this thread

Now then, of the several political parties that exist, there are only two with caucuses in every legislature across the land sufficient to have significant impact on policy; Democrats and Republicans, hence the legitimate question in the heading.

the democrats for sure at least for the majority of Americans

republican propaganda certainly works with a certain segment of the population

but

if you look at what they actually do instead of their rhetoric there is no question

Hmm... I guess that minorities that are (or wish to become) wealthy or invest in corporations are in a pickle there.

No. They'll go Republican to partake of the spoils. See Ben Carson et. al.
