OMG: Lanny Davis Says He Was A Source For CNN’s Trump Tower Story

Cohen didn't have any sort of deal with the prosecutors. He pleaded guilty without a specific deal. The prosecutors didn't even know he was going to implicate Trump. Cohen could even get the maximum sentence, though that's unlikely.

I wondered why Lanny Davis - a Clinton Crime Family lawyer forever - was suddenly representing Cohen. It is my guess, he is using his Clinton "juice" to create a favorable plea environment for Cohen. Also, Cohen lied to congress, but with Lanny Davis' association he closes the loop, and Davis protects him by "Clintonizing" him, and thus, Congress will not lay a glove on him for lying, thus removing any leverage congress may have on him for the Russia probe.

It looks to me that Davis has forgotten that he is representing his Cohen, not joining in the prosecution of Trump. He is still in there as a Clinton "Fixer". Remember Cohen plead guilty to campaign violations that many lawyers say are not crimes. Who does that?

It was quite suspicious when they started to make up non existent crimes. Their goals were transparent.

Davis isn't going to knowingly lie to the public. Who do you think he is, Rudy Giuliani?

Either Davis made a huge mistake, or Cohen lied to Davis.

By the way, Giuliani can only get away with massive lies and sounding like a blithering idiot, because his client (Trump) is not facing a courtroom any time soon. He's trying to sway public opinion, primarily for the Fox News crowd. If Giuliani acted like this with any other client, he'd eventually get disbarred for legal malpractice.

Davis clearly misspoke. If there is no other way to tell you can tell from the specific wording of his retraction when he says "I have no direct knowledge that Cohen will contradict his Congressional hearing testimony". Davis goes on to say that Guy Patrillo, Cohen'a actual attorney may know. But he Davis does not.

The nature of the Davis retraction is not known at this point. I have an idea but only an idea.

You are right. It would be a stretch to say that Davis lied. He misspoke and then retracted. We will just have to wait and see.

Also, before I forget, Cohen did not likely lie to Davis either though who knows what he actually said to Davis. May not have said anything directly to Davis.

The instant Davis was asked about his comment within the context of Cohen's appearance before Congress he immediately said he had no indication that Cohen had anything to say that would contradict his Congressional testimony. The jig was up that very instant.

We will recall that Cohen had been silent for at least two weeks before his court appearance. Seems to me that Davis was trying to draw some attention to Cohen's appearance and did not care how he did it.....JUST LIKE RUDY!

I understand that ol' Lanny is known less as a trial attorney and more as a PR attorney ... like you said before ... and that likely has a lot to do with this fumble.

He was probably trying to keep interest up in the Go Fund Me, which is actually Go Fund Lanny.

He was pitching a story already known to be false. So much for due diligence before you speak for your client. Don’t forget he is the Clinton Crime Family lawyer and apparently has the juice to not have his office raided to see what Hillary was up to.

Cohen has no deal with the prosecution, and no protection if he lied to Congress. In fact, the Senate Intelligence Committee is investigating that very question, and he could face up to 5 years in jail for lying to Congress while under oath.

Cohens is probably been frozen, and his earning power is kaput, and Lanny Davis is not working for free, so a healthy Go Fund Me guarantees income Davis has payment rights to.

The Clintons will see that he doesn’t starve.
