We constantly hear Trump talk about the NFL players disrespecting the flag by kneeling during our national anthem. Those players are doing so to point out the way this country treats some of its people. Then we have Trump using the flag to show his hate for one of our citizens by first lowering the flag to half staff, then raising it again and finally being forced to lower it once again. No matter how you feel about McCain and Trump, what trump has done in using our flag in this way shows greater disrespect for the flag and what it stands for than those who kneel during our anthem.

Must be Rachel Maddow's talking points tonight?

I find it really rich that the Left, whose ANTIFA brownshirts are now calling our American flag a fascist symbol, are accusing Trump of disrespecting a flag which they've shown nothing but disdain for, including burning it.
Trump went by the letter of the "law" for lowering the flag. He. Lowered. The. Flag.

Yes, it should have stayed down, not went up and down, but to twist this into these flimsy and desperate accusations of abuse is ridiculous, end-stage TDS crapola.

Seems 45 suffers from JSMcCDS.;)

I thought the liberals hated the flag anyhow.Take the damn thing down and be done with it.

Being a vet myself, I think what Trump did was done to disrespect a fellow vet. This follow the law BS put out by your Trumpsters just doesn't fly.

Ah, the Russian troll is back. Haven't seen you on the message board for a few days. And many of the so called liberals you hate are vets and they have shown more respect for our flag than that chicken hawk in the White House.

Being a vet myself, I think you're just a flaming liberal looking for ANY reason to disparage Trump so you post this nonsense.

Ah, as a Vet you find it okay that Trump, a draft dodger if there ever was one, disrespects not only the flag but a fellow Vet and one that spent 5.5 years being tortured? Or do you feel like Trump, you don't think McCain was a hero because he got shot down and was captured? I disagreed with many of the positions taken by McCain, but I respected him as a fellow Vet and as a man who served his country with honor. Something I would like you to tell me Trump has done. And I was once a GOP voter, but no more. So not a flaming liberal, just a moderate and now an independent.

Well we cancel each other out then because I was once a liberal but that ended when I realized they were no longer for the working man.

As for McCain, I find it a bit ironic how liberals and the media are fawning all over him now after how they treated him in 2008. And I find it more than a bit coincidental that the timing of it happened when McCain started being a major antagonist of Trump.

It's pretty clear to anyone paying attention what this is all really about. The Left using the death of a fallen hero to attack Trump. It really is pathetic.

We aren't the ones attacking a war hero, that is your hero in the White House. I think it is pretty pathetic that you will follow someone who attacks one like trump has been doing for months. And as far as the common man, you think that Trump or the present GOP stand for the common/working man? Now that is a laugh. The tax break alone ought to show you who they stand for, the top 10%. And look at the wages for the common/working man since those tax breaks were passed. CEO salaries and benefits and stock holders are getting almost all of that and actual wages for the common/working man are actually going down. Next it will be cutting or getting rid of Social Security and Medicare. And don't tell me I am wrong, the House GOP already has announced plans to make cuts so they can pay for those tax cuts. And who do you think gets the most from Social Security and Medicare, not the wealthy, they don't care. It is the retired common/working man. I could go on and on, but the idea that the GOP cares one whit for the common/working man is laughable.

One is a disrespect for the flag that represents our nation. The other is an imagined disrespect for a person. Imagined because Trump followed the protocol that was has been in place since Eisenhower created it in 1954. In case you are not sure you can read it here:

Were you equally pissed off when McCain called you a loser?
