While other potential candidates play coy when asked about 2020, Avenatti makes a point of stating in no uncertain terms that, yes, he is “seriously considering” a run. The prospect of an Avenatti campaign has been met by Democrats as both a feature of the post-2016 Trump spectacle and a possibility worth taking as seriously as any other ahead of a nominating contest that could draw a record number of candidates.

Fellow democrats, progressives, and liberals/moderates, etc.

Okay, Avenatti's clearly an opportunist. Does anyone disagree on that point? If so, speak up.

But, is that a bad thing? Heck, is not Trump an opportunist? But, for Trump, that is his most virtuous quality. Trump
is a monster, and is totally out of control and a danger to the planet, literally.

If Trump should somehow manage to stay in office and run in 2020, we need s feisty, cool-headed person to take on Trump.

Who can bust Trump's balls in a tête-à-tête public battle better than Avenatti? I can't think of anyone. Maybe Kamala Harris.

I love Biden, but he's too old, and we know him too well. We need some young fresh blood. Also, he's too nice. Not sure I want a nice guy pitted against Trump in 2020, too much is at stake.

I'm considering supporting Avenatti, but of course, I will watch him a lot more in the coming months, to get
his take on the issues, to get to know him better, we shall see.

One thing I like about Avenatti, he admits it. Other potential candidates, though we know they are seriously considering a run, they won't come out and say it. Warren won't, Harris won't, even Biden won't. Personally, I'm sick of anyone who isn't sure footed on running for president, and we need to know now.

All I ask, is that you don't close the door on the idea for now. Let's see how things go in the near future. Let's see how he withstand the vetting process and how he does in the polls. They might not be that good, right now, but Avenatti's a competent guy, he just might pull it off.

45 seconds is all the thinking time this idea merits.

"NEXT!"

The shyster doesn't stand a chance but this is more entertaining fodder for laughs, to be sure.

Trump does it and then every Tom Dick and Harry thinks they can do it...

Nooooooooo.....

the stakes are too high to risk it on a self serving novelty candidate. we already have one party that thinks our country should be led by a reality tv show halfwit. we don't need the other side doing the same thing. run a competent candidate who can win.
