Sessions On Thin Ice?

The only reason why Sessions did so was because he was part of the campaign and it would represent an obvious conflict of interest.

If the recusal question wasn’t addressed early in the Administration, I think there would be no thought of recusal 19 months in. Now it is just a brazen daylight robbery........

Trump was implicated in a crime on Tuesday. Republicans calling for an investigation: zero.

They did suddenly find it very important to open another investigation into Clinton's emails, which I'm sure has The Onion wondering how the hell they're going to weave satire out of that one.

I've been awake for the past year and a half. Please don't insult my intelligence by telling me there's some magical standard (which is always in movement, btw) that Republicans are waiting to see happen before they do anything. They've been warning Trump not to do anything stupid for over a year now, but once the Manafort, Cohen, Pecker and Weisselburg stuff came out they were like, "Aw, **** it, who are we kidding? Go ahead and do your Saturday Night Massacre. But pretty please wait until after the midterms."

There is a legitimate debate being had as to whether what Cohen accused Trump of doing is an actual crime. According to some very respectable people in the law, some say it is, other's say it isn't.

However, as to your post, if you'd prefer to just bitch about Republicans rather than discuss what would probably happen, then just say so.

And the Republican curiosity into investigating whether Cohen's accusation had merit to it? Nonexistent.

Just like the same Republicans didn't investigate Obama's campaign finance violations - That post is ridiculous partisan hackery.

Again, if all you want to do is bitch about the GOP, you can do that, but there's no need for me to try to have a reasonable discussion at that point.

Oh, stop with the nonsense false equivalence. You can't explain away that Republicans shut down and choked off the Russian investigations to the point that nobody believed them, never opened a single case into blatant emoluments violations, completely ignore ongoing obstruction of justice and whistled and looked the other way when Trump sold out his DOJ and Intelligence community and took Putin's side of the Russian manipulation issue.

Every time you roll your eyes and accuse me of bitching about the GOP, you're proving my point, which is that there isn't anything Republicans have any intention of holding Trump accountable for.

I haven't ever tried to explain away anything that you wrote above.

Your posts to me are over the edge in this thread. Just leave me out of whatever it is you're doing in this thread. Please.

You promoted the idea that Republicans will take Trump to task with your comment, "...if the House was held by the GOP after November, and Trump fires Mueller or something else major like that I have no doubt that the GOP leadership would allow Articles of Impeachment to be brought to the floor for open debate and open vote."

Yet when I point out the zero interest in investigating Trump on legitimate, objective issues, you handwaved it away as "bitching about the GOP" and even tried to deflect to Obama in order to avoid dealing with how the GOP is behaving, thus completely proving my point.

You're holding to a fantasy, and I'm not going to pretend to share it.

Senator Graham seems to think that AG Sessions is on his way out after the elections. I have read that POTUS stated that he would have preferred to have Rudy Giuliani as his AG, given hindsight. If Sessions is run off, who do you think will Trump nominate to be the new Attorney General?

Elmer or Buckets Keebler, most likely.

Graham can see which way the wind is blowing.

Sessions was hired to be the AG.
I have yet to see him do anything since he has been in that position other than recuse himself.

All the corruption going on in washington and nothing coming out of the DOJ on it.

because everything you listed is complete bunk and you know it. It has been debunked time and time again and yet
all you have is the same debunked arguments over again.

You missed the part where Sessions enacted the zero tolerance policy at the border that Trump wanted and routinely separated children from their parents. I guess you were taking a really long nap.

Cohen is going to be sentenced in January. I'd say the debate is settled.
