Nation of Laws?

Have you ever explored the costs involved in challenging the constitutionality of any particular law?

And to clarify my previous statement, I do understand that our courts are overflowing, as prisons are too, with charges and cases against ordinary citizens.

My point is that for the privileged class such as politicians, the rule of law does not apply.

Three examples are George Bush's admission that he had not complied with FISA procedures in having the telecoms intercept private communications, James Clapper's perjury in front of Congress regarding NSA procedures, and James Brennan's perjury to Congress regarding essentially the same.

3 violations of federal laws, and not one single indictment or prosecution, demonstrating the rule of law does not exist in this country. Unless, of course, one is an ordinary citizen in possession of some forbidden substance.

Very good points that I don’t disagree with. But my post was seeking examples of what in your view were unconstitutional laws. So can you name three such laws?

The USA Patriot Act is unconstitutional because it nullifies the 4th Amendment.

The Military Commissions Act and related NDAA amendments are unconstitutional because they suspend Habeas Corpus with no good reason.

The many laws that constitute the drug prohibition are unconstitutional, mainly the Controlled Substance Act, are unconstitutional because the federal government has no authority to tell the citizen what he may ingest.
