TL;DR:

The usual procedures here would be for the Federal Election Commission to investigate complaints and sort through these murky laws to determine if these kinds of payments are personal in nature or more properly classified as campaign expenditures. On the Stormy Daniels payment that was made and reimbursed by Trump, it is again a question of whether that was made for personal reasons, especially since they have been trying since 2011 to obtain agreement. Just because it would be helpful to the campaign does not convert it to a campaign expenditure. Think of a candidate with bad teeth who had dental work done to look better for the campaign. His campaign still could not pay for it because it is a personal expenditure.

Contrast what is going on here with the treatment of the millions of dollars paid to a Democratic law firm which, in turn, paid out money to political research firm Fusion GPS and British spy Christopher Steele without listing them on any campaign expenditure form, despite crystal clear laws and regulations that the ultimate beneficiaries of the funds must be listed. This rule was even tightened recently. There is no question that hiring spies to do opposition research in Russia is a campaign expenditure, yet no prosecutorial raids have been sprung on the law firm, Fusion GPS or Steele. The reason? It does not “get” Trump.

This is nothing new, but the amount of power and corrupted partners that the Clinton's have on their side. Almost guarantees that they will never be caught for such a thing. She's even been caught on camera breaking campaign laws and nothing happened when compared to the greater scheme of things.

We know damn well that Trump isn't entirely clean, but this crap pulled from within and by the DNC is just sick.

IMO there is no real outrage over this kind of stuff these days, as long as the candidate is someone one likes and/or supports.

In the case of Trump, the "Resistance" doesn't really care what mud is used as long as it can be flung non-stop 24/7 in order to get him out of office.

Comparisons to anyone else, be it Clinton, Obama, or whomever, are dismissed as "Whataboutism" or water under the bridge (unless it is positive comparisons to show how negative his Administration is). After all, in many of their minds his election was a fraud, a "theft" if you will which never should have happened. They were assured on a daily basis by the MSM that there was a 90-99% chance he would lose, and still can't get over the fact that he still won via the Electoral College process (which has been around since the founding) rather than on the popular vote.

Collusion, campaign violations, any possible links to any kind of alleged past criminal endeavors, his mental state, his unfitness for office, etc., it's all grist for the mill to get him out of office or at the least tie up his efforts to achieve any of his policy goals.

So never mind the past, it is only the NOW people are concerned with. :coffeepap:

I think you are looking at it backwards. This isn't about how corrupt Clinton is. This is about how 1) breaking campaign finance laws is very minor and 2) the double standard of the deep state and trying anything they can to take Trump down. Honestly, I wouldn't want Clinton gone after for something as small as campaign finance laws.

Very much correct and the way they are trying to sell it, is just as bad in most cases.
