When their president takes away someones security clearance for not lying for him or the ***** Grabber believing that his people have no 1st amendment rights if they they don't grovel at his feet for everyone of the non stop lies that comes from his mouth. All the time the right excepts the non stop lies and thinks it's just dandy as far as the wacko monsters actions are concerned . They support this countries biggest threat. A man who has sold out this country for power and his party support his sell outs without even a second thought.

The nation is seething, And these clods our would be leaders STILL refuse to listen, STILL refuse to learn!

It's time to make changes.

The GOP is in a state of derangement. The GOP used to believe in fiscal discipline and worry about the mounting national debt; Trump has blown a trillion dollar hole in the budget.
The party used to believe in free trade; Trump has imposed tariffs hither and yon. The party used to believe in free markets; Trump now clumsily tries to pick winners and losers, smears the independent Federal Reserve board and used Twitter to attack individual companies for political reasons.

The GOP used to champion American ideals of freedom and justice through the world. But Trump has nothing but praise for dictators who abuse human rights and the GOP says nothing about this.

The Old GOP lied to the nation over and over again and became cucks for the lefties and they were corrupt and they refused to work...........They died because the Universe is at the end of the day Just...This represented justice.

Be very sure that I have the High Road here.

It's that very certainty that makes you wrong.

That's a nothing explanation for why the GOP has abandoned everything resembling a principle and are rallying around a grotesquely immoral 70-year-old toddler.

I'm promising myself not to think in terms of right and left. These generalizations lead to irrational beliefs.

It's better to say, "How far gone are Trump supporter?" I would say pretty far gone. I'm confident that there is nothing they would not excuse.

They've disowned the old GOP and now Trump is all they have. Where will they go without Trump?

Says you....But here is the thing....Who the **** are you?

I know you didn't ask that of me ... yet ... but I am one of the people who was GOP until it became the party of Trump.

It is really a crying shame that there were not enough of your kind demanding more honesty and better work from the old crew.....With as bad of work as the Democrats have been putting in you could have run the tables, and you would not have suffered the utter humiliation of watching the almost completely inexperienced Trump clean your clocks and steal your party.

The quality of work it turns out actually matters.

It is time to wake up now.

Please try,

What does that even mean?

You keep posting fighting words like they have meaning.

But nothing explains or excuses the GOP becoming the party of Trump. Certainly not "quality of work". Apparently "quality of work" means absolutely nothing to the people who are rallying around the cockup in the White Houes.

Trump is what America gets when America refuses to get the work done.

This represents justice.

I will leave you with that as clearly you cant understand me, perhaps someday after your education progresses you might remember something that I said and understand it.

The GOP hasn't had principles since Eisenhower.

This idea that Republicans used to be principled is just romanticizing the past, in hopes that the current Republicans will 'see the light' and do what's right for the country like the "principled" Republicans of past.

Not true. Republicans stood by Nixon for the longest time in Watergate, defending many of his power abuses, and only tossed him overboard when public outrage demanded they support impeachment (then they set-up a ruse to protect from the penalties for his crimes).

They stood by Reagan, Bush, and Dubya in all of their power grabs and scandals, too. That's because they all share these various WH's objectives of waging conservative warfare by any means necessary, just as today's GOP does. The only difference between then and now is Trump comes across as a bumbling ****tard in his conduct, and the media covers it all to an extent that we see the corruption more.

The right wing believes the msm is the problem and not, their guy.

sort of reminds of the Star Trek episode where all of Captain Kirk's junior officers rebelled.

So because the GOP elected Trump you abandoned the principles of smaller goveenment and fiscal responsibility and everything else that is at least what the GOP pretends to stand for and changed all your believes to become a progressive. Sorry thsts simply not believable.
Explain to us ehy the GOP electing an idiot caused you to do a 180 on your beliefs.

How far gone is the right? The question is How far gone is the left.. Judging by this post... nothing is left of the left! :lamo

Trump Derangement Syndrome is an Epidemic! Dr. Phil vs. TDS!

Apparently it is perfectly "okay" for Trump to strip security clearances from people he hates, but Peter Strzok expressing his dislike in a private text message is cause for beheading.
Ohhhh, the irony.

Yeah, pretty ****ing far gone :lamo

The GOP was progressive for the first 100 years of its existence.

It was still sane until relatively recently.

I hung around with George W. Bush because he embraced "compassionate conservatism". (The GOP of the 90's had lost compassion and almost lost me.)

I hung around after that because it was hard to let go. But when the GOP was so determined not to give Obama a win that they wouldn't even help veterans they started losing me. When they abandoned any semblance of principle in order to embrace the immoral dogwhistling charlatan Trump, they finished losing me.

Oh, and Democrats have shown more dedication to fiscal responsibility than Republicans have in recent years. I'm not a Democrat, because I still have problems with that party, but they have shown themselves to be much more grounded in facts. Republicans showed that "smaller government" and "fiscal responsibility" are just Trojan horses, completely disconnected from their real agendas.

Trump is the symptom of a great malaise, but he is only in part the problem. The GOP has long ago lost its way and sold out to big business, intolerant conservatives and religious zealots among others. The Democrats are schisming between pro-populist leftists and pro-corporate centrists and even some hard-core right wingers. The nomination processes for both major parties are either dysfunctional or corrupted and rigged. The electoral system has been bought by concentrated capital or disabled by public relations firms and their deep-pocketed clients. The electorate has been atomised by fear, envy, hatred and greed and has been coopted by rigid ideological adherence, vicious ideological differences (which disable compromise) and blinding self-interest without the buffer of enlightenment.

Into this vacuum of electoral power are stepping disillusioned and very angry populists and cynical, opportunistic demagogues of all stripes and political leanings. The electorate's anger is dictating their electoral choices rather than their minds tempered by civic duty and focused by a sense of public welfare. Democracy in America is morphing into a grotesque, publicly displayed, kabuki theatre which masks the growing plutocracy and oligarchy which really calls the shots these days. A fast growing surveillance state and a nascent police state are cycling up to speed just in case the electorate shakes off its divisions and paralysis and begins to act in concert in order to reform the dysfunctional system which protects the interests of the few at the expense of the many. President Trump's election was just one sign of the massive instability which is building up in the US Federal political system, much like the increasing wobbles in a slowing toy top as its spin slows and it approaches teetering collapse.

The second great danger is that this growing mess so disgusts voters and discredits democracy that the electorate and political elites begin to contemplate or viscerally react and then try to replace democracy with more authoritarian forms of governance; or they turn away from public institutions in favour of out-sourcing matters of state to top-down, private, for-profit interests which will exploit the American people for the benefit of their shareholders.

America is at an historical crossroads politically these days and the political decisions Americans make over the next 2-6 years will reverberate for generations I reckon. So think hard, choose carefully and consider running for public office if you can.

Cheers?

Well Sir with all due respect the hope is that Trump turns out to be part of the solution, that he can teach, that he can wake folks up.

If Trump cant do it then no one can.

We are this desperate!

Whay they did 70 years ago is relevant how exactly

But more importantly you are missing the point. If you said that you were not going to vote republican any more (which I don't either) or even going to vote Dems that would have been at least believable. But you self identify as a progressive. A party that runs counter to virtually every thing the GOP claims to stand for.
So we really only have two believable options. Either you really are not telling the truth or your beliefs are so flimsy that they blow which ever way the wind blows.

Hawkeye10:

I don't think President Trump will be part of the solution to much at all. Rather, his divisive policies, his unrestrained impulses, his grating, nasty personality and his self-centred outlook will further deteriorate the political health of America, making the country more susceptible to the next cynical opportunist who rides the populist wave of revolt and rejection into power and then, once elected, does even more long-term damage to America both domestically and internationally.

In President Trump's defence I see no potential candidates from either major political party right now who could buck the populist waves awash in America presently and win without resorting to some sort of extremism in their campaign. That's how polarised America has become, at least that is how it appears to an outsider to the north these days. You are a house divided and a fall seems inevitable unless the divisions are lessened and the political foundations are rebuilt to serve the public interests rather than private ones.

America was once a small-c capitalist commonwealth and flourished. Now it is increasingly a large-C corporatist bordello on the brink of authoritarianism and possible fascism. President Trump is almost identical to the people and their mindset who have hijacked and broken the American Federal political system. He is a symptom of the disease and not a cure for it. You were duped I'm afraid. But if the mess he creates jolts awake enough Americans from their political apathy or unites the politically engaged but thoroughly atomised active American electorate, then maybe some good can come of this sorry mess in the form of renewal and grass-roots political action which rights the badly listing ship of state before it capsizes. I hope you lot make it. You're good folks and fine neighbours in a bad spot right now.

Cheers?
