A Mexican restaurant is facing backlash after serving Jeff Sessions

Correlation, not total causation.
Obama lit the fuse.

Who taught you to repeat those meaningless words that so often destroy any meaningful debate with vaguee cliches like you just invoked? Trump is president for gods sake. We are talking about his numbers and division among the American people.

Yep. The left gets TDS and then blames Trump for having given it to them. We aren't divided so much because of Trump but because of the refusal of the left to accept that they lost an election to him. Then, in their usual way, they blindly attack anyone or anything they think is even remotely connected to Trump or responsible for helping him succeed.

The utter gaslighting and pernicious abuser tactics have become a phenomenon on the far Left.
They have convinced themselves that it's all everyone else's fault and they bear no responsibility for their actions.
Like a 6-year old screaming, "She made me do it, Mommy!!"

It's self indulgent and masturbatory at this point, and serves no other purpose than to punish "the other", because, yes, it feels really, really good to them.

Oh, sorry, pardon my higher education.

btw... At El Tiempo they have this thing called the tower of meat that will leave you wobbly. Had six people (including me) last time, and we could not finish it. Damn thing is supposed to be for three people.

Whoa! That'll give ya the meat sweats:shock:

Yeah... it's one of those where you feel it for a day after. Unfortunately, before the tower gets there, you load up on chips, salsa and queso. It all goes downhill from there (nicely so).

I'm sort of surprised they are mad at these guys for having a photo of a celebrity/notable person. Many restaurants do that stuff.

What specific numbers are you referring to claiming that Nixon was less divisive than Obama?

Their average approval rating Nixion 49.1 Obama 47.9

Bush 49.4 Carter 45.5

Supporting strong borders or enforcing laws already on the books does not mean you hate Mexicans.

How many Mexicans did Obama deport, and was he allowed to eat tacos?

The left also likes to say if you do not support hiring less qualified people based on race, you are racists against blacks.

I don't think the country is more divided.

I think the press, or media if you will, report on every instance where Trump was involved, but did not with Obama.

We only know what they tell us is going on, so of course we know more where Trump is concerned.

Regardless of anything Obama did, the nation was nowhere as divided as it is today. And the difference is Trump.

The only difference is who is out of power. When Bush was president, the nation was divided and the left acted like asses. When Obama was president, the nation was divided, but the right (for the most part) acted civil. Now Trump is back in power and the left gets to act like asses again. Just because your side is in power, doesn't mean the nation isn't divided.

There was a shirt I saw that summed it up pretty well.. We survived 8 years of Obama, you'll survive 4 of Trump.

No. The difference is that the bad old days have returned and Americans have never been so divided in well over a half century or more. And the reason is a mentally ill narcissist serial liar racist misogynist who made a deal with out main adversary to steal an election and rape our democratic institutions.

It's a pattern. Next time we have a republican president, and it will happen again, you'll see the same actions by the same sorts of people. They just can't control themselves. It's obviously not their fault.. they have no self control, I guess is your argument.

NO. My point is that the bad old days have returned and today Americans are divided over the president more than at any time in at least the last fifty to seventy years. And it is Trump who is the reason for it.

Obviously there are always people who do not like the incumbent president. That was true of Truman and Ike and JFK and Carter and Ronnie and a pair of Bushes and Clinton and Obama. They had their fans and they had their haters. That comes with the territory.

What we are seeing today is an echo of Nixon during Watergate and is even getting worse than that. And it all is because of Trump - who he is, what he is and how he conducts himself arousing tremendous hate in more Americans than I have ever seen in my entire 69 years as an American who follows politics closely.

The thread topic is about certain people acting like asses. Offended that a restaurant dared to provide service to someone from the administration (and many other examples). A vast majority of those that dislike Trump or his policies, don't act like that. So, the level of approval/disapproval isn't really relevant. It's that some people find an excuse to act like asses when a republican is president. This sort of behavior spikes when there is a republican in office. It goes down when a democrat is in office even when that democrat is unpopular. It says more about some percentage of the out of power party then it does about who the president is, imo anyway.

Obama deported record numbers of illegals. Separated thousands upon thousands of minor children from their parents when he deported them. Obama put kids in cages, or did you not see the photos? Obama held Mexican minors in detention to punish and interrogate them, or have you never heard of the Juvenile Referral Process?
Did Eric Holder ever get this reaction?

No, Obama didn't do that.
Trump didn't do any of this. People have free will and choice, and they are choosing to act with incivility while they tell themselves with how "good" they are.
Of course not.

Yes, Trump actually did do all of that.

And this will continue to happen again and again and again and again in different ways all over then action because of the way trump has conducted himself and alienated so many of the American people.

Get used to it.

No, Obama didn't do that.

Yes, Trump actually did do all of that.

Oh, yes he did. Obama had thousands of parents deported, thus, separating parent from children.
Mostly fathers.
Look it up.
