Re: Does Trump Even Understand What He Did Wrong ?
It's called tribalism and what is taking place now especially on the right because they are in the minority and need to divide to conquer.
Sorry, but there was never a time in the history of the United States "when everyone put country first". Historians postulate, from the written records, that during the Revolution, one third supported the separation from the English monarchy, one third were against it and one third just wanted to be left alone. I have ancestors who fled to Canada from Georgia at the end of the Revolution because they were Loyalists and ancestors who fought on the American side and ancestors who were living on the continent before the white folks showed up. Now I'm here and through my study of history, I accept the fact that I would probably disagree with many of my ancestors if I could travel back in time.
All you have to do is read a bit of history and you will find that partisanship seems to be an innate characteristic of all human groups. Once a group reaches a certain size, there will be those who disagree with the leaders and there will be those who disagree with those who disagree, and there will be those who just say -- "Leave us Alone!!"
